Wake up to shower its 0500. I start the coffee, let the dogs out, fix my java craving. Dressed, bring in dogs, grab phone, sit down tune on tv...."CNN REPORTS< BREAKING NEWS>"....The shit hits the fan. That is the best possible time to find out. I change, arm up, panel the house with the hurricane shutters, wife is up, kids locked down. 3 hours latter, panels are up, house locked down, family in area en route with water, canned goods, and their own needed items to survive. Cars, on side of house, tubs full of water. I already have food, and water, guns and ammo go bags packed before i woke up, Trailer brought from storage self contained and hooked up to one vehicle in front of house across driveway, but not blocking cars or exit. I ready with my boys, food is scavenged from any where to supplement the reserve. Cycle water from tubs. I have a mobile pharmacy, and ACLS gear, o2 tanks and defibrilator. I am contained. Anything else is gravy to sit it out. Hand held radios, 250 gallons propane buried in yard tank,15 gallons gas in 7 different vehicles, 60 gallons in reserve. 17KW home generator, 3000w in rv. Winch on jeep. Plan B is exodus. Straight shot to field with slab, and two rvs' in fenced 2 acre tract, no neighbors for miles. I would anticipate holding out for several weeks, until something changes. I won't be over run without a very long engaged stand off. Believe it or not we have had this drill with better than 72 hours heads up for hurricanes. It has become, a drill. The middle or end of day options are worse, in the middle of the day people hedge their bets and get prepared last minute. end of day, traffic issues, darkness. Dont forget caffeine, tobacco, redbull, whatever yor used to for that second wind you will need. But stay put and get ready early. Remember christmas past? nothing left on the 23rd of December. Now multiply it by your towns population. Seriously think it over run the drill.

Why does ebery one have to steal? Start getting ready for any event now. Real or imagined. You stay put. Have a back up plan, bring people to the strongest, best supplied fortification, reinforce, bunker down, and wait. Period. It has worked for every miltary strategy in history. The outcome is survival. Fortification is the key. Buy time, and thwart off. Await reinforcements. Any body that isnt posing understands this. Any military training, past or present, understands this concept. What makes you think that you will be the only ones with the raid and plunder plan. You may be the casualty on your way into the garage. The irony is this is actually the recommended policy by Homeland Security for any event. Keep the street clear. This web site is fun, the situations or contingincies may be real or imagined. The wisdom comes in preparation and execution of a plan with some variance. Start a new realistic plan.

i would barracade my house i have a second floor so i would move all the food and other stuff upstairs i have two guns that i OWN (with lots of ammo) one marlin model 1894 357. and a ruger gp100 aslso chambered for the 357. i have well over 1000 rnds. I would bring my two closest friends i have my BOB ready its not more than 40 lbs. I would hole up as long as supplies last wen supplies are exhausted i take the bridge i made from 4X4s and other wood to cross to the neighbors house break through the cieling pretty easy with the prybarAfter getting out im going to book it out of there.(not going to military bases because 1)every other dumbass has the same idea.2) they have no way to scan people quickly and efficiant the only way being full strip down and search. It is most lickly a very time consuming process.3) even if by miracle i do get in there would not be enough food to ration to thousands of people.4) they would never arm civilians it would be retarded to. accounting a headshot is needed to kill a zombie if i am not mistaken. A person is not born with the knowledge of knowing how to shoot a gun let alone score a headshot. It would be a waste of weapons and ammo to let a civilian use the gun.5) they wouldnt let you bring your own guns inside the whole violence inside the complex would not be made better by people shooting eacother. I would not let them take my guns like i know they would have to do to ensure safety.6) in the event of a perimeter breach there would be mass chaos and isnt a place that is hard to get into also hard to leave because there would probably be swarms of people clogging up the exit(s).

I would just use my tram system to take all the (sane) people that I believe will be helpful such as
-doctors -soldiers (again sane) -many men and women but if they are especially religious there out or if they are nut cases about there kids they are out as well -electricians/builders who are mechanically inclined -any one who hunts and has good rifle or shotgun skills -my friends (all military esqe armed (ak47,saiga 12,SVD,Rpg-7) plus military vehicles -and me of course (armed the same as my friends) *NOTE* if you are going "WTF?" at my tram system heres a breif explanation I have a covered train system completely covered and is not dependant on city power (solar panels and generators+convertors) and there are 50 stops all heading to my base which y the way is about as big as N.Y.C. and is defended by 5,000 troops who droped out of the military 50-100 troops at each stop depending on how close it is to civilization. *NOTE END*

Assuming we're using my current home (Indiana) as a starting point:
1. I live close to a school, which itself is out in the rural parts of my town, so I would rush there. 2. There is a Wal-Mart supercenter just a hop, skip, and a jump from my house. It, too, is out in the rural area. 3. I would call my 2 best friends, have them gather what they could, and have them rush to the school where I am hiding (and bring their families, if they wish) 4. There are crop fields scattered about the area close to the hideout, in addition to any seed packs we happen to acquire in our scavenging. Rural Indiana is almost perfect for a zombie outbreak ^_^!

1.Where would you go? (school, prison, stay home, ect)
2.What stores do you hit? (medical supplies first, food first, weapons first ) 3.Who to take?( family and friends, no one, everyone) 4.How do you plan to live long term Well seeing as i live less then 3 minutes away from a Walmart AND less than 1 minute from the Walmart is National Guard base I think i'm pretty comfortably set for Z-day. First thing is first I would grab all weapons from my house and probably grab a decent sword from my dads collection just in case melee combat ensues. (probably wouldn't need it given i alone own 3 shotguns + ammo, 2 handguns, and small rifle). So after weapons were gathered, the family would be loaded into the truck and I would go across the street to the 27 year old neighbors because he owns a few assault rifles and 2 ak-47's. After our familys and weapons were gathered we would rush to the national guard base and further our weapons collection as well as add to ammunition. We would also commandeer 4 or 5 armored transport vehicles plus extra fuel. After we stocked up on weapons we would enter the walmart heavily armed and take non-perishable food and water as well as a few other bare minimum supplies for survival. Might also go by the hunting dept. and pick up some more weapons and ammunition. After supplies were gathered, close friends would be picked up within the city. After we have everyone of importance in the city, we would drive towards Lewisville and pick up my aunt, cousins, girlfriend, as well as more friends there. All in all we would have about 30 or less people and 5 trucks full of survival supplies and fuel. After all persons of interest were in the convoy we would begin the trek to white sands, New Mexico stopping along the way to raid gas stations for fuel and more food and water. Once at white sands we proceed to the more prominent of millitary bases there and set up camp with locals who have taken refuge.

5 million people, my whole state doesn't have 5 million people. Only 2 of the states around me have over 5 million people. The nearest medical clinic, with one doctor, is in the next town over.
Just too unrealistic for me. If I wanted to live in an ant heap I would be an ant. |

First, get all of my supplies while avoiding the maniacs. Me and my dad get guns and other weapons. My sister would get medical supplies. My mom would get the food and water. Then, we would get all of the barricade materials we need from Home Depot and cover up our house to the point no one will try to get in. I will have a truck ready and the 5 strongest people will go out on weekly raids to get supplies. Everyone else will gather their stuff so we can get to the nearest mall. There, we will search every store in groups of 2 to make sure no zombies are inside. We will barricade the mall with everyting at hand and just birth as many babies as possible to help the human race.

The city is probably quarantined, and the streets are filled with gun-toting maniacs, so I can’t plan on just hopping onto the road and getting out of the city. I plan to stay home for a week or two with my group, planning our escape from the city, and then escape from the city.
When I heard of the infection, I would send my friend to get guns, as he knows more about them than I do, while my fictional brother and I get food and water. My parents and sister fill the tubs with water and start barricading the apartment. No one in my family needs regular meds, so salt, sewing equipment, and cotton should cover medical supplies for the moment. We gather our neighbors and, after checking them for infection, form a zombie-slaying party, using my apartment house as a base of operations. We set up a perimeter and fortify it, gathering any non-infected, mentally stable, and physically fit survivors, and killing everyone else. We redistribute weapons according to skill, and send all those without combat experience to reinforce our fortifications. Those that do have combat experience conduct a raid to the nearest privately owned grocery store and then to a place with construction supplies (could be a construction site or a store similar to the Home Depot). Hopefully, with enough raids, we can gather enough supplies to last our group long enough to plot an escape route and have enough left over for us to execute the escape plan. After/if we get out of the city, we will adopt a nomadic life and raid other survivors to stay alive. We will eventually settle down by a nice river somewhere, and take up farming and subjugating anyone in the immediate area. Hopefully, infection was spread around in the president's bunker, so there is no government left. Otherwise, after the zombie war, they would try to take our land from us. Please let me know what you think.

First of all I would take my family with me and grab what ever I could use for weapons first of all we would hit the automall and each grab a van or suv or a pick up truck anything we can load down with supplies we would hit a gas station or two to load up on gas. then we would hit a weapons store and pick up mostly hand to hand weapons and some long range weapons like cross bows and bow and arrorws. easy to make more ammo for them. then it would be off to the store to get what non parisable supplies that we can carry then we would head up noth I mean artic north. once there we would be pretty secure against zombies. cause without blood pumping through their dead bodys by the time they got close to us they would freeze and it will be easy to knock them off. Then we would wait till civilization comes back to order before we leave the north. Just like the inuits we could live off of fish and other artic wildlife for food.

DAY 1: Get my family, all and any friends that want to come and are mentally stable, any willing people that have knowledge in operating a ship, boat, or any vessel, some willing authorities (police, soldiers, firemen, paramedics, etc.), and (optional) the hot girl. (This will probably total 5-20 people.) There's always a hot girl that the hero gets to make out with in the closing scene.
We will bring/buy/"borrow" the following: Fishing equipment Jet skis Garbage Trucks Anything that would make up a good BOB CB radio, one per 5 people Entertainment, ranging from iPods to erotica Walkie Talkies, one per person Any weapons that they want to take. All noisy or inefficient weapons will be thrown out. We will get to the nearest port and use someone's boat or yacht to get 1-2 mile from shore. If no one has one, we will buy/steal one. If we have to steal one, I'll probably go for small cruise ships/fishing boats or an aircraft carrier if possible, with nine or ten crew members on board so that we can actually sail the thing. The garbage truck will be hidden somewhere, with booby traps around it so no one would steal it. DAY 2: We will go to the mainland via jet ski (I say mainland because those ships will probably be our home "island" for some time) and buy/steal anything we might have forgotten. DAY 3: There will probably be less people in the city now, so we will turn the trucks into the perfect anti-zombie machine without any interruptions. Also, we will upgrade the ships. (See my profile for why I decided to take garbage trucks and how I will upgrade the ships) Other than that, pretty much the same as DAY 2. DAY 4: OUTBREAK! Start ranged zombie slaying training. Other than that, just survive and the same as DAY 2 and 3. Finish upgrading the trucks and ships if not yet finish. PS. 72 hours is 3 days...right? Please let me know what you think.

There is a county Jail close by and it is a fortress it would be great if I could get in but to get there I would steal a school bus from a near by highschool that has a bus lot close by
Where it is that i live it is suburs but turns to urben very quickly Along the way I would take who ever wanted to go and was not infected or showing signs of infecton There is also a hunting store loaded with guns black powder bullets, bows and arrows with weapons in hand it will double are chances of survival then th local clinics where doctors are in great trouble provided there are no road blocks as school bus are not of road vehicles many grocier stores are close by try to hit them all hunting zombies and rouge humans depending on how many people are in the group while looking for other survivors 1,2,3 have been answered now here are the reason to help answer 4 as many people as possible whe everything is all said and done the species will need to be repopulaled The county Jial is a stone structure built 1980 or early 90s not going to fall apart soon i hope Most likly the prisoners are dead or were set free and now abanded in effort to evacute the city this problem is not goin to go away kill them all before it is too late By going into the heart of the beast this would help those left behind and in need of help The local stores will feed the people while the hunt is on the jial is a base of operation the ideal is to spiral outword killing all infected and crazy to make a safe zone for the survivors Building walls and check points to keep the zombies from coming back retake the buildings on by one and not running to the hills in 28 weeks later and waitng to die Crops regrown anywhere that has dirt, water gathered from rain, turning back on the utilities and never going gently into that good nigh

1.Where would you go? the water plant on the other side of town, its large enough to keep a big group of people comfortable, and it has large generators that can keep its power up and running for years - so long as you have replacement parts to keep them maintained. it also has several hundred acres of fenced in former agricultural land, in a remote area of town that is sparsely populated. you could ride out pretty much anything there.
2.What stores do you hit? weapons first, theres a gun store up the road in town (town isnt heavily populated here), grab as much ammo as i can, and several back up weapons (multiple 12 gauges, several side arms, a few assault rifles, some replacement parts and cleaning kits for said guns, and ammo for all). also some kevlar would be nice, just the arm guards and leggings. everyone would need gas masks (the old school kind, full face) to avoid blood to mouth, eye, or other facial oriface. some bdu's for their ruggedness. and some mre's (meals ready to eat) just incase things get rough. the grocer will be my second stop, grabbing only canned goods and freezedried products. the pharmacy in the store has large amounts of medical supplies to take along too. 3.Who to take? immediate family, my son, and my fiance. other than that if you have a usefull skill you're welcome to come along. i would make sure to train my neice and son on how to use a gun, but all the rest of my family is pretty adept to weapons of some sort, and were pretty well armed already. 4.How do you plan to live long term? most of this question was answered in the first one. but to extend on it.. i would set up patrols to keep a watch for defensive breaches and survivors along the fence line. maintaining a safe perimeter is number one priority. plant crops in the spray fields. jack a petro truck to keep the generators running, and make the occasional smash and run on the towns grocery store.
