A 16 year old's guide to a Zombie Apocalypse
--- view more survival plans -----
Your Name: Your "handle" should we look for you on the radio waves or web: Dragrace14
Your location: Nassau County, New York
Tell us:
Is your plan dependent on zombies in your home town, or anywhere? My Plan is dependent on the zombie count being at a minimal, because the plan will be put into action as soon as the outbreak is reported on the news.
Will you be staying in your home or headed somewhere else?
The best bet for survival is to keep moving. As soon as I hear of the outbreak, I will use my laptop to locate the nearest gas stations, camping supply stores, military surplus stores, and gun stores (which are all in a 3 mile radius from me. I checked). After that, I would grab my dad's replica Winchester Rifle, and his Desert Eagle and I will get in the car and head for a couple friend's houses, (They all have weapons) then to a gas station for a couple spare tanks of fuel. Then I plan on heading out to the locations of the places I looked up.
If you're heading out, how do you plan to get there?
Once I get to my friend James' house, we'll use his commerical van to travel to the gun stores and other places. We'll use all the side streets, trying to avoid major highways where it's easy to navigate and where zombies can travel in massive numbers.
Got anyone you want to take with you?
I plan on taking my mom and dad, if they're home when I find out about the outbreak. I'll bring my 2 close friends with me (the first whose dad owns a army surplus store and the second is a lifeguard with CPR and other lifesaving training, and he's a good shot with a paintball gun).
How will you communicate with the outside world, or do you plan to go the hermit route?
I won't be too concerned with the outside world (I plan on only focusing on survival), but I do own a CB radio which I will use for updates on the outbreak, weather conditions, and possibly to connect with other survivors.
How are you planning to get food and water?
When I run low on rations and water, we'll try to raid general stores for food. Not big places like supermarkets because everybody will go there and angry hungry refugees tend to be prone to violence. Besides, Large supermarkets have to large glass windows which will probably shatter within the next twenty four hours.
What's your weapon of choice? Do you need to reload that thing? Gotta plan for that?
My weapon(s) of choice is a lightweight machine pistol and a pump-action shotgun. I will always carry a machete or a hunting knife of some sort. I'll obviously need to reload the guns.
Got a survival philosophy?
My philosophy is to always be positive. Only you can determine your fate and it's always good to keep on going.
Everybody will die, but only you can choose when.
Are you willing to hook up with other survivors?
Of course! There is always safety in numbers. However, not everybody may be a sane as you. It's always a good idea to keep a watchful eye on any suspicious people. They may be more of a threat than the zombies themselves.
Is your plan based on a book/movie/blog/scientist we may have heard of?
No

I plan to stay at home. If it happens NOW, i'm essentially screwed, as I need to be 18 to buy a Katana. But, when i'm 18: Stay at home OR move to a youth centre that's pretty run-down. It depends on what class it is. 1+2, stay at home, 3+4 Go to centre. 5, Die, really. I have dozens of canned stuff in my room, and a cricket bat and golf club upstairs as well. I have a compass, maps of surrounding area, etc.

A decent plan, although I must ask, how often have you fired these firearms? Do you know how to clean them?
