A Newbie's Guide To The ZSDWThis is a featured page

"Howdy," from all the Wiki Staff. As Staff, we're often asked a number of simple questions as to how stuff works on the site. This article, alongside the FAQ, is here to clear a few of them up.

Before you add anything on this site, you must read and understand the Code of Conduct.

First thing we'd recommend is that you browse through the site, reading a few articles and spending some time in the Forum BEFORE you add a new page. Now, when you go to add your first page, be sure you add it in the right spot. If you add a page in the main directory, IT WILL BE DELETED, or moved to the Dump section of the site.

This site runs on the Wetpaint platform, which uses a state of the art editing system called EasyEdit. And it lives up to its name; if you can work with a Word document, you're pretty much all set to create and edit pages on this site.

Here are some basic guides to help you make your first page look great:

How to add a Video

A Quick Tour of the Discussion Forums:

Now that you've got a handle on how pages work, what about the Discussion Forums?

Where are they? You can find them by clicking the "Discussions" tab at the upper left of the page, below the "OM" in our banner.

What are they? They're essentially the places where all the public discussion happens. Every new topic is called a "thread."

Got something to point out about a page? Make a thread about it (you can even find a few down at the bottom of this page, although they aren't really connected to the content). Got a question you'd like to pose to your fellow members? Make a thread about it (you'll find out how, soon).

Where should I post? Before we tell you how, we'd like you to know where, first.

To begin with, head on over to the Discussion Forums, HERE. To the upper left, you'll see a box with a bunch of threads; these are featured threads, which are very similar to stickied threads. To the right of that box, you'll see another box with people's avatars and speech bubbles; this box shows you our most recent forum activity.

Below those, you'll find the categories, and below the title of each category, you'll find a description. Try and make sure you post your new thread in the category with the most fitting description. If none of them seem to fit, then feel free to post in General Discussion.

Beyond that, check out these pages:

Remember, before you start a new thread, use the search function to see if a thread already exists on the subject. You can find the search under the "WIKI" part of our banner.

Any Questions?
Head on over to the FAQ. If you still have any questions, feel free to message Drewblet or any other member of the Wiki Staff.

Other Articles Worth Checking Out:
If you want to keep track of banned members and their reinstatement dates, head on over to the Vacation Home.

Are you unimpressed with the wiki, or know something that the mods could improve on? Please remember to leave a comment on the "What Can We Do Better?" thread. We'll do our best to respond.

it is important to recognize your community nerds, nerds have the power to know exactly wat to do in case of an attack. Video game nerds are on the top of the list, all video game nerds must know something about zombies, if they don't know how to last in an apocalyspe they are not true nerds. The next on the list the computer geeks, without the computer geeks, we would have no way of knowing the precautions to take just in case an attack, the internet is a great way to contact other survivors and speak out your plans, then there is the jocks, technically they aren't nerds but it is important to have a few of them be able to guard your back, jocks have the strength to be able to survive, question is... do they have the smarts. Gather all the nerds you can and bring together your own top squad survivors for an apocalypse, and remember, the dead will rise!!!!
