ArmaLite AR-50Model: Armalite AR-50
The AR-50 is one of the many rifles produced by Armalite, the famous inventors of the AR-15. The AR-50 is one of the most popular modern anti-materiel rifles among civilian shooters. It's a single shot bolt-action rifle chambered in the massive .50 BMG round, a bullet big enough to slice through light armor plating and pulverize brick. The AR-50 is quite affordable compared to the magazine fed and semi-automatic designs like the famous Barrett M82.

The current model is the AR-50A1, which has a smoother and stronger action and a new bolt stop. The AR-30 is a scaled-down version chambered in .338 Lapua, .308 Winchester, and .300 Win Mag; the rifles are virtually identical otherwise.

Complexity

The biggest issues of the AR-50 are weight (the same as any anti-materiel rifle) and the single round capacity, which makes it relatively slow to fire. It cannot be disassembled without tools, either. Other than that, the action is very strong and smooth and will provide excellent accuracy at long ranges. The muzzle brake also provides a risk to anyone standing next to the muzzle, so make sure said area is clear before pulling the trigger.
