Gameplay Rules

Death

The most common variation is that one shot, anywhere, counts as death. The player then yells "hit!" "dead man!" "OW!" or something similar, holds his gun up in the air, then walks to the dead area.

Most long scenarios will have respawn rules. The death area will be on a timer, and when it runs out, everybody is released. The timer may need a certain number of people to start, or may just run continuously and release at intervals.

ie: Respawn runs on a three-minute timer, starting when the box fills with ten people.

Medic
A popular rule is to allow player medics. When a player is "killed" they lay down rather then walk to the safe zone. There are several complex variations of this, but the general rule is that one of several designated medics must be in close proximity for a period of time. In some places, the medics are the only ones allowed respawn to keep them from being eliminated early on.

ie: 30 guys each side, 3 medics per. Two hand touch for 10 seconds to heal.

A slightly more realistic variation is where a BB hit disable the limb. Repeated chest hits or a headshot are instantly lethal.
Medics have a set number of bandages they can use to revive someone. A problem with this scenario is that it must be played with absolute honesty.

Another scenario yet is where the medic or player carry wound envelopes. Upon being hit, the medic tears open the envelope or pulls out a card.
He must follow the instructions inside to revive his patient. This can be combined with the limb disable rule.

ie: Sucking chest wound: you must apply a chest seal and sit the patient upright for a minute.

ie: Bleeding limb: apply direct pressure for 30 seconds and apply a bandage.

Rocketman52 Nerf Zombies 16 Sep 3 2010, 5:19 PM EDT by MedMan52

Last year, a friend of mine was telling me about how he went to sit in a college class to see what it was like (We were seniors). He then proceeded to tell me about the in depth zombie game they played there.

The premise is that you can sign up for either team: Humans or zombies. The humans are allowed to carry an Nerf gun, and must do so at all times. The zombies must simply touch the humans in order to kill them. At the end of the game, you count up your kills and the highest wins.

Whats novel about this game is that it goes constantly. 24/7. For a couple monthes.

In the middle of school, you could be walking down the hall, an average day, heading to your next class, and suddenly find yourself facing several "zombies".

I dont know the specifics - maby each team would wear a colored bracelet to identify? Or maby there would be no identification at all? But I am kind of considering trying to get a group together to try this in my campus. What do you all think?

EDIT: WB, you are correct. It is a Nerf gun. I hadn't realized it was posted wrong.

John_234 Zombie Rules Version #1 (page: 1 2) 23 Jul 9 2009, 4:54 AM EDT by John_234

Basic rules for a zed scenario. Wanted to run them by you guys before I actually planned out a full-scale game.

--Zombie Rules
Approximately half the players will be zombies.
The zombies may run, jump, hide, whatever. They can even talk, as long as they do not in front of human players and stay in character.
Headshot rule. But since actual headshots are a bitch, each zed wears a tin plate on their front and back. Two hits for death, anywhere else doesn't count.

Upon being killed, the zombie falls "dead" for a half minute. They then walk approximately one hundred feet away from the humans and are "alive".

To infect a human, the rule is two hand touch. Both zed and human will be rooted on the spot for 5 seconds. A fellow human can mock "pull off" or shoot the zombie during this time. If not, the zombie kills the human and "feeds" for one minute. The new zombie goes to the nearest referee for a set of plates. They can also use this time to get a drink of water, store guns, etc.

--Human Rules
Humans will be divided into several categories depending on the scenario.
Typically, it will be civilian, military, and wildcard faction. Police may supplement or replace one depending on the situation.

-Civilian
These people are the majority. They are allowed pistols, shotguns, and other non-automatic weaponry. They get 60 rounds.
Persons using multi-shot shotguns get ten bursts and thirty additional BBs.

-Military
These players are very few in number, typically ten or less, but start in the same general area and pack more firepower. They are allowed any kind of weapon. They start with 150 rounds and a single grenade of their choice, hand thrown or launcher fired. Police are similar, but are not allowed to use grenades.

-Wildcard
These guys can be anything from crazy civilians to PMC factions.

A French skirmish in what appears to be La Rochelle castle. Bastards!
They're using Resident Evil replicas by Tokyo Marui.
The link is a fairly plain gameplay video.....with crappy sound effects ripped from the game. Oh well.

This next one was in Oregon. I believe they used a military training facility for this one. Pretty unique. Zombies, werewolves, vampires, and yes, killer clowns.
