Alphad0g0451 (Elijah's) Survival PlansThis is a featured page

First of all, I'd like to state that my survival plan is an ongoing group project. My friends an I have been talking about this since we first became fascinated about zombies. Parts of this are subject to change as our world changes around us. And if anyone in our area reads this, when the time comes you will know what to do.

In a Nutshell:
When the outbreak first occurs (small local newscasts about infected, fox news reporting on isolated incidents) if I'm not in Monroe, Louisiana (where I go to college) I will be in my hometown of Vidalia, Louisiana. If in Monroe, I'll gather up our group of survivors, and discuss our tactics for the coming outbreak. If the military wises up and takes care of it before it spreads, then we won't have to follow through with our plans. On the other hand...

If I am located in Monroe, I'll head to Vidalia. If I'm already in Vidalia, I'll call up everyone and go over the plans one more time. If the military can't contain the threat, and the outbreak turns into a full blown apocalypse, our main plan will be set into action.

In Vidalia there is a National Guard armory next to the local airport, which are both in the middle of farmland on a paved road. Given that the situation is heading downhill, our first goal would be to "drop by" the armory to see if there were any supplies left behind. The size and location of this facility will inhibit it from becoming a survivor haven, and with the place being of little value I doubt the military will try to keep hold of this facility (most of the houses in the nearby neighborhood are larger than this building). If this armory is completely bare, we will head to Natchez, Mississippi to get supplies. There is another National Guard armory there, which I know from experience is MUCH better stocked than the one in Vidalia, but still isn't a large enough facility for the military to use as a haven for survivors. But, in worst case scenario, we will consider that empty as well.

The last line of supplies we will go for are the local pawn shops. There is a pawn shop in Natchez that is called "The Barracks", and is named so for a good reason. They carry many military surplus goods, such as MREs, camo wear, combat boots, combat knives, and much MUCH ammunition and guns. More than likely this would be the place most of our supplies would come from.

Transportation
Well this brings many ideas to mind lol

Worst case scenario (no other transportation available for "use"):

2003 Mitsubishi Galant (My car)
2002 Mazda 626
2004 Mazda 6
2007 Dodge Dakota
1950's Ford Truck
1996 Harley Davidson Sportster (only used if zombies are not fast zombies)

Best Case Scenario (Natl. Guard Armory is stocked, area not totally ransacked)
Humvee (multiple)
M977 Hemmet 8WD (mulitple)
Wildlife and Fisheries Dodge Ram Pickup
GMC Topkick

There are many car dealerships in my immediate area, and if any had useful, non fragile vehicles we would use them.

Hopefully I'd be able to get all these people. More may come, but this is the core group.

I agree, raiding military bases is dangerous, despite it being a small facility, the supply line is going to be very important to the military, so it is likely they will still protect it. Not to mention if the problems are put down soon after you do so then you will be an outlaw. Also, your group is a little large

However, so as not to seem like I'm just here to put your plan down I will say that it is a good plan, and should the armory be undefeated you will be a very well supplied and armed group

Not too terrible of an idea. Just a few questions/statements that may help kick-start the group thinking.

Try and stock up on some simple firearms before you actually need them.
Try and stock up on the parts and accessories of said firearms.
Try and stock up on the ammunition/reloading equipment for the ammunition to the firearms.
Do your best at making teh group all have the same ammunition for ease of issue.

Include a meeting area that is not a direct goal for looting.
Set up the meeting area beforehand.
practice getting to that area at random times before the panic.

remember that this site is based off of the "Zombie survival guide" and "world war Z" by Max Brookes.
Do you find this valuable?
