Britain is mainly composed of small villages rather than major cities and has a much smaller population.

While Britain has a smaller population, they have to fit all of those people on a land mass smaller than California, bringing population density much higher than America, the outbreak could spread far faster than in the United States, especially most of the west where there are large but very spread out population centers.

But an outbreak in a major city like London would be on CCTV (6 million cameras in London alone...which is more then any other city per capita). This would have the whole country on the offense as it is hard to deny when you see 2-3 people ripping a person a part and eating their insides.......

TonyPro--Correct me if I am wrong, but I was under the impression that cricket bats were composed of pine wood--that would make them about three-quarters the weight of a baseball bat. Cricket bats also have corners, for administering better damage to the cranium. Cricket bats own. Also,Britain includes Scotland; whose signature head trauma item is the golf club--very lightweight, very durable, and weighted perfectly on the end for some zombiepwnage.

I'm just going to quickly correct you, cricket bats are made of willow! However, I personally have crow bar, machete, axe and baseball bat (wooden, it makes me feel like I have a better grip). I did think about trying to acquire a gun, but I'm clumsy and would more likely kill myself with it than anything else!.....angel_of_wilf x

Death Hawk- Actually Cricket bats are made out of a variety of woods, traditionally made out of willow, nowadays it isn't economic and takes alot of time, most are made out of pine, anyway why use a bat? Use a "Corkey"-Cricket ball, they've been known to break peoples shoulders. fingers, noses, arms, sternum, ribs, legs, colar bones, anything really. Even people who get hit on the head-there rock solid.

Chaplin_Gir : I happen to live in Britan, and own a fairly large collection of cricket bats. I'm not saying all of them are good enough to crack a skull open, but acouple of the heavy ones (about 3lb) which may not sound much, but I can get enough momentum to easily turn a skull to crazy bits and from playing cricket, rugby and weight training i can swing hard, and quite alot before tiring. But still a bat made from willow will eventuly break, and is no match for a fire-arm. But straight away if you've nothing else in your house, a cricket bat is a wonder for moral.

What DustinEchos104 said about golf clubs being a horrible choice is something I'd have to agree with. Unless you used a wedge or maybe a putter to smack a Zed in the temple to smoosh their brains. Drivers and most other clubs are much too long with too light a weight to do much real damage. Although it would knock out a human, you might have a tougher time knocking out a zombie, like what GunGamer said.

I'd have to say I think the cricket bat would do better than a regular bat. I don't know about newer ones but I've got an older style bat and it's pretty heavy, and I definitely agree with TonyPro about the angles and corners being better at squishing heads than a round bat. I think it'd deliver worse blunt force trauma than an aluminum bat. Although a wood bat might be close.

Elvenoutrider- Britain is an island country, it would take a while for the dead to invade from the mainland, or if the infection started in Europe the civilian population could be evacuated easily by boat, allowing for a joint military effort to get in and do their thing, hopefully before the zombies can get reach the mainland. ONce they do, the infection will be much harder to stop.

Z13: This is funny because you assume there are no baseball bats in Britain. There are, but just fewer then in the U.S. Really the country that has the biggest advantage is Australia. No land connections, and able to close its boarders. Amazing =D

Death Hawk- Z13 maybe but I think Russia would do ok, you can legally have automatic weapons, even some forms of explosives, even though it's highly populated, it's very large with lots of resources to use and forrests to hide in as well as land to farm. Also, in the winter the zed's would just freeze. Oh yeah best thing lots of villages have distilleries, so lot's of fresh water and even better vodka.

Monkeyfacedzombie: Another advantage of Britain (correct spelling) is that we are a lot smarter than your average American, so we will have better survival prospects. plus, imagine if we let our football hooligans loose, we would own.

Arakratty: I think Britain is better because it is a island country so even if we got infected we would not spread. (good for everyone else) The cricket bat wins hands down because of the edge and the leverage ability AND the bigger surface area for more chance of hitting the zombie.


Homeworld100: You also need to consider the history of Britain. You are much more likely to find weapons such as swords and maces you know that kind of thing
in Britain than America. A long sword for instance is a lot more efective than a basebal bat at self defence. With a bat it would take a good acurate and powerful swing or two to kill
a Z but with a long sword youve just got to aim for the head area and swing and if that would take to long you can always just cut off one of its legs and run something you can not do with a baseball bat. Give me a good Blade over a bat any day.


SERPHIN: its even in the suggested reading, in "world war z" briton will be fine. how many castle have you got in america? i think a several meter think stone wall is more protective than a chain link fence at any military base. plus there are loads of guns in briton you just have toknow where to find them. you may laugh but think where your local army cadet club is, they have at least 10 guns with ammo and extra clips. and its a single shot gun so you make every shot count.

Canada: it will fair well except the hords of americans crossing the boarder, this increases the potential of infection. granted the loan cabin with a gun would survive but on mass it would go the same way as americaBritain would be better because if you consider the amount of people who would be turned into zombies


briton: as stated before, loads of castles and melee weapons. series of small towns and villages will minimise potential zombies. negative issues are that police dont even carry guns so........yeah we would suffer on that point. but plus point on the few guns is less friendly fire, no one is gonna be mistaken and shot.


america: guns, guns, guns and a large population. it wont fair well. again in world war z he even predicts that the forces will gointo an all out tech war and willl loose. plus hillbillys, mobs of renegades. since america is so large many fringe and pocket comunitys will survive but will they be the average working joe who survived this ordal by banding together or will it be a crazy guy with a gun who kills other on sight?


Mehow: Not of much relavence, but Baseball was actualy invented in Britain, the US baseball association did a huge cover up to make everyone think otherwise. I think Britain is gonna do great if the infection starts else where but soon as it kicks of its not so good, we have a high population density and I don't even know where my nearest gun store is.

TARVAA: Britain has less people to be turned into zombies coz america has millions more and it would be harder to get between town coz theres such a distance whereas britain as stated near the top has smaller towns. although america does have alot of firearms i mean its not asif britain has an army ha imagine that a british army. there is are army bases dotted around outside town obviously no on maps. and i dont really knwo alot about the "territorial army" but i has one of their bases next to mien and it has a big gun outside its base

Death Hawk- The "territorial army" (TA) is a reserve force of the British and other commonwealth country's, they recieve the same amount of training, the same equipment, and have to fulfill a certain amount of time a year with the military. There just normal people who are part time soilders, like the U.S.A.'s National Guard. By the way the TA includes a reserve S.A.S.

Thrawn5:Ok, first, You guys need to stop flaming (even if it is low level), we will ALL be in trouble if there is an infection in ANY country (provided that it doesnt stop, hopefully it will though).
Baseball bats will start to bend and fatuigeafter a few good hits to a skull, a Cricket bat will not fair much better. As for filling your baseball bats with lead
A) where are you going to get that much lead?
B) the bat will start to bend after a couple uses, what is your plan for that?
C) the chances you will hurt yourself with that bat (just by swinging it maniacly, which I ca almost guarante you will do at some point).
Another thing about weapons, no matter WHAT country you are in, a couple of days after the infection starts therewill be weapons dealers out (black market if that is what it takes) who are looking to make some money for when this "blows over".
Now for the main topic, I am personaly leaning towards that Britain will do better in a zombie attack than America will, the buildings are more defencable (in some areas), smaller population, the terrain varies (much as the US), and it is a bit wetter than most of America, causing more rapid deterioration of the zombie.

Zaitch: As someone said earlier, Britain has guns, you just need to know where they are, I personally could walk to 2 gun stores and back with ease, true, they only stock shotguns, .22 rifles and archery equipment, but it's better than nothing. Then you must consider inevitable military/armed police involvemnet (CO19 in London, for example). One machete in the head of an infected soldier or armed police will get you either an SA80 or MP5 and Glock 17, respectively.


You know how Britain will survive? No its not your soccer hooligans and not your cricket bats and not cause you're on an island. It is because when the shit hits the fan your prime minister or queen will call the president of the united states and our army will come and save your asses like we've had to before.

Zaitch: No, Britain will not need the Yanks to arrive late to another war, you just need to be smart to survive, all you need is food and water stockpiled in a block of flats with the only staircase rendered inaccessible. It is then impossible for zeds to reach the first floor. It is then simply a matter of waiting until it all blows over (hopefully).
