SOME WHERE IN NORTHERN WEST VIRGINIA
Robbie stood and grabbed his FN FAL and racked the bolt. While holding the back handle grip with his finger outside the trigger guard, having the muzzle pointed up, he reached down to check if his back up was still strapped to his thigh. He placed his hand on the grip of the engraved pearl handled .45 caliber peacemaker. It was in its usual state hammer down on a camber with a round in it. It reminded him of something. It was his anchor in this new crazy and twisted world.
His best friends had given it to him when he graduated from O.C.S. The friends were like the three musketeers. They met in high school. The friends were never apart during at all. They made the school’s staff life pure hell. They all wanted to join the military. But that’s when they had to part, Robbie had to leave for a combat assignment in the far east, David was still in combat diver school and then he had a tear one operator orientation, while Kazia had a pilots
training course and was finishing up his last year of college.
The friends that were headed for small town in Tennessee for a reunion from different corners of the country Robbie was on the eastern sea board. It was a non-eventful trip until he was in the northern tip West Virginia. He had not been in a big city for about 2 days he had driven on back roads and had stayed in a backwater motel. While on a back road he came upon a walker feeding on a cow. It had ripped out its innards and had an intestine wrapped around its throat. But it still was feeding it looked like the cow had died maybe a day before.
Robbie got out the car and tried to investigate it but when it smelled him it went crazy and snapping and clawing at him writhing like a snake. it tried to reach at him and got lucky and caught his ankle and with what seemed like all of its strength it slowly inched Robbie’s leg closer and closer to his mouth. Snapping out of his daze and realizing the danger he was in he forcefully pulled his leg back but un-expectantly he ripped the walkers arm off. And the rest is history. His car gave out three miles back and he has been hoofing it since.

SOME WHERE IN WESTERN MONTANAKazia wiped the blood off of the edge of the kukri as he walked out of the room. The scene he left behind him was grizzly. There were six walkers in the room. Emphasizing were what was left was a bloody mess but the centerpiece of the room was a ring of six heads perfectly severed at the neck and had a split skull. They each had a cleaver mark in the center of the forehead were the kukri was brought down with great force splitting the skull in to two equal haves and having the bulbous part of it jammed in to the victims brain. Effectively killing it.
As he left the room he stopped to light a cigarette. Sucking it down till it glowed a few centimeters from the filter he turned form the door and flicked the cigarette in to the room. In a heartbeat the room burst into flames and instantly the smoke was billowing out of every nook and cranny. Walking out the front door he grabbed his leather trench coat and Remington 12 gage shotgun that he left by the door frame. He pumped it once to put a new shell in to the camber and walked out to the street. With a slow movement he pushed the right side of his coat open till he felt the pearl handle of his .45 colt peace maker that David and Robbie gave him on the day that he really became a pilot the, the day the squadron commander gave him the keys to his fighter jet, that is now nose first in the ground in the middle of nowhere Montana twelve miles away from where he is now.
He had planned on taking a quick flight before his flight to the little town in Tennessee. The thing with pilots is that they only in joy flying when they are the ones at the control. He had just reached cruising altitude when he called in to the tower at Malmstrom Air Force Base for a report and an update on the weather conditions. What came across was a garbled sound like a moaning sound. He tried the tower again when that failed he tried Great Falls international airport. This time he got an answer, from a frantic air traffic controller. He said he just had to kill three coworkers with a fire ax. The man gave him a warning that nothing was the same anymore and explained what walkers are and that have taken over, that they now outnumber humans.
But before anything could be said the transmission went out and nothing was herd. But then the channel went back on but now there was a sound of screaming and the sound of something or something-s chowing down on the air traffic controller. A moment later the signal finally went out. Not knowing what to do he went in for a landing at Malmstrom AFB. On the approach he noticed that there were a couple of walkers milling around the landing strip. But as soon as he had cut the engines and took his helmet off the little fighter was instantly bombarded by walkers.
It took him by surprise and was shocked and terrified whatever had happened it had made the walkers look like sick parodies of the person they were. He sat there for a moment taking in the faces of each and every walker and registering their faces and thing of who they used to be of the fact that they all were his coworkers his comrades. He reached deep down inside of him and found the strength to put his helmet back on and start the engine of the plane.
As the engine revved up the walkers got more restless and started getting more violent. As he speed forward he decided he was going to still go to the reunion maybe just maybe if they were there he didn’t know any more but in this chaos he had only that to hold him as his anchor. About 3 hours later the low fuel indicter came on. About an hour later the engine stalled and the jet slowly leaned forward on his nose. When it finally got to an altitude that he could jump from and survive he hit the ejector seat. And he walked east. Scavenging along the way.

SOMEWHERE IN EASTERN ARAZONADavid knew the sound, it was the cocking of a gun, not just any gun it was the cocking of a Colt Anaconda. An instant later there was a voice to accompany the sound.
“No heroics Tran” said a feminine voice.
In the instant that he heard that voice his ears twitched in recognition. It was a voice he has herd many time be for.
“Eva, were on the same team now. Either way if we go outside they’ll want to chase you down and eat you just as the same as they want to do that to me.” He explained
As he spoke he turned around. Now there’s a long story behind these two. They both were Tier one operators. They trained were together, and competed constantly. If David dotted an eye at 3000 feet, she would dot one at 5280 feet. If David ran 3 miles in 10 minutes she would run 3 miles in 5. If she beat an obstacle course in 3 minutes he would beat it in 1. Some might say its childish love and you might be right.
They had been in this situation before on had a gun on the other and most likely the gun was stolen from the other. And each time it ended the same. This time David knew without a doubt that that was his colt anaconda that was in her hand and that she had just stolen it, as he had heard her sneaking up on him all though he did not feel her stealing his gun. He noted to himself that he had to pay more attention to his surroundings.
Her back was to the wall. She had the anaconda pointed at his forehead. In a movement that would have surprised anyone but Eva, David brought up his hand with the intent to knock the gun out of her small hand. But in an equally fast movement she brought her hand up but in doing this she exposed her wrist. A major mistake, David grabbed her wrist pushed it up and pined it down to her shoulder. While doing this he pushed her till she was fully against the wall.
Their faces were inches from each other. They look deeply in to each other’s eyes.
“You know there’s no one left around” He said “we can stop playing these games. Your bosses are probably dead. There’s no one watching us anymore”
“And yours?” She said just barley over a whisper
“Dead I put the bullet through their brains myself it’s what they would have wanted “he said solemnly his eyes almost glazing over like he was some were else.
As before mentioned they had been in this situation before and it has all ways ended the same. They both new it was not needed any more that they could do what they want now. They could let their lust and passion run wild, their inhibitions go, and be more to each other than F*** buddies , And to have their passionate love making to mean more to each other than pleasure. They had met the same way all over the world. Paris, Kabul, London, Moscow, Madrid, and other places there work brought them together. She worked for the CIA, while David worked for the military.
But all of this was in the back of their heads as they moved their heads forward and kissed passionately. She dropped the gun and he let go of her wrist. In their lust they had begun to take their clothes off. In a fury fueled by lust and anger at the world they found a comfortable position on the floor.
A FEW HOURS LATER“So what do we do now?” asked Eva
“I honestly don’t know any more.” David said
As they were getting dressed he thought about this silently. As he finished up and was putting on his police style duty belt he remembered the colt anaconda that eve dropped some were in the room. Looking around he saw its handle sticking out from under a new paper. He picked it up and put it in his belt holster. Finally putting his belt on he moved and placed his hand on the two guns on his belt the anaconda and a Colt .45 peacemaker just like the one that his friends Robbie and Kazia have.
Then with his hand on the handle of the revolver a thought hit him.
“Tennessee!” he said
“What?” Eva Asked.
“Let’s go to Tennessee” David said “the boys and I were headed there for a reunion. And if there’s any one that survives the hell of this new world it’s them.”
“But how do you know that they still alive. How can you be sure.”
“I’m not. You just have to trust me”
“But how ?”
