20% Ichthamol ointment
This is a drawing salve, a black, tarry substance that is extracted from rock schist (also known as oil shale). It has antiseptic properties and may also be effective as an anti-inflammatory, antibiotic and anti-fungal. It is safe to use as a topical treatment and is most commonly found as an ointment. The ointments usually also contain an oily substance, such as mineral oil or beeswax, which helps the active ingredient of ichthamol to penetrate the skin. Use ichthamol to draw out splinters (like wood or glass) from the skin. Cleanse the affected area and then put some ointment on it. Cover it with a bandage and check after a day to see if the splinter is at the surface of the skin. Use tweezers to pull out the foreign object. Treat boils, carbuncles or abscesses with an ointment containing 20 percent or more of ichthamol. A staphylococcus infection causes boils, which can swell and have pus. Draw the pus out by applying some ointment to the boil; let it form a head, lance it and then let the pus drain. Ichtamol ointment is available as an over the counter preparation in pharmacies (chemists). You can also find it in tack shops since it is commonly used for hoof care. Oh yeah, IT STINKS!

1. get on mask and glove, thick rubber gloves are best
2.disinfect the wound if bleeding with whatever you have, ex: iodine(hurts like hell but..), or if a bone is broken, get arm or leg straight and bone set back in place, use your own arm or leg to feel what the bone should feel like when set then apply a splint or staight piece of wood 3.badage the wound, or "dress it" is a more common term, bolth a broken bone or cut should have a tight bandage notes:for small cuts the disinfectent is nesesary but a small band-aid is enogh to cover it and a layer of duck tape over it is a worthy procauson also, if survivors are found with small cuts or scrape, ask them how long ago it was when they got it, if a short time, disinfect and cover it, if relitivly long, check for swelling and redness, if the blood isnt hardening, they are unfortonatly doomed, it is best to kill them with a pistol shot to the head, but dont let them see you do it, then the death would be painfull |

There is a right way to do it
Contacting the Emergency Medical Services As soon as you have determined that a victim needs medical attention, activate the Emergency Medical Services (EMS) system. Single out one or two bystanders and direct them to call the EMS. The EMS can be activated in most areas by dialing "911" or "0." The EMS will need the following information: where the victim is located who you are the telephone number you are calling from first aid that is being given what happened how many persons are sick or injured condition of the victim(s) Remember: Do not hang up on the EMS operator. Let the operator tell the caller when to hang up. |

Saw it mentioned several times without details so:
Placing a Victim in the Recovery Position This position helps a semiconscious or unconscious person breathe and permits fluids to drain from the nose and throat so they are not breathed in. If the person is unconscious or semiconscious after you have performed emergency first aid, move the person into the recovery position while waiting for help to arrive. 1. Kneel next to the person. Place the arm closest to you straight out from the body. Position the far arm with the back of the hand against the near cheek. 2. Grab and bend the person's far knee. 3. Protecting the head with one hand, gently roll the person toward you by pulling the far knee over and to the ground. 4. Tilt the head up slightly so that the airway is open. Make sure that the hand is under the cheek. Place a blanket or coat over the person (unless he or she has a heat illness or fever) and stay close until help arrives. Remember: Do not use the recovery position if the person has a major injury, such as a back or neck injury. |
