Is your plan dependent on zombies in your home town, or anywhere?- Well, this plan is what I'd do if I find out about the zombie infection when at home.
Will you be staying in your home or headed somewhere else?
- Staying home is plan A, if for example I first heard of the outbreak on the news.The house I live in is sort of a trio of houses in a sort of cul-de-sac at the top end of a village built on a hillside. It is more or less surrounded by fence so I am at an advantage for that part, except for the entrance of our cul-de-sac which slopes up (because of the hillside) towards the three houses. I would block the entrance with a car, even though I can't drive yet I could release the handbrake to the bottom (To let you know I am going on the pessimistic assumption that my family is away on holiday/not back from work or something, as well as the neighbours and I am alone), and push it sideways (for a temporary blockade). Over the week I would use the spare materials (odd DIY stuff) from my and the other two houses to strengthen the fence and replace the car blockade, and also wood from the sheds which I would destroy because they would be useless. For an emergency escape plan, I would have 2 pre-prepared options.The first is to connect the roof of my house to others in the village via rooftop bridges, and the second is to have cars readily prepared beside parts of the fence. The fuel tanks of each of these cars will have a long tube -supported by sticks- protruding from them with petrol in, and a petrol covered rope connecting the tube and fuel tank. The tubes from each of the cars will be as close to the house as possible. The idea is if numerous zombies get in, I can light the end of the tube with lighter/match, and the flame will travel through the tube, along the rope into the fuel tank of a car. The explosion should kill enough zombies to clear a path wide enough for me to escape. For water the rainwater would suffice as I get plenty of it, which would be collected in buckets. For food, the food from the 3 houses would last a while, although I'd venture out for more before I run out (see next Q).
- Plan B is if the zombie infection gets to my house before I can take real defensive action.This would be if my family got infected say if my dad got back from work with a bite and didn't tell us and infected rest of family etc.I'd probably find out if I woke up from them bumping about or woke up naturally then found out.Upon discovering infected family members, I'd sh*t myself, and run back to my room. There I have a tiny WC. I'd fill up my water bottle, jump out the window. There I'd be beside the back door beside the kitchen and if they hadn't gone down to the kitchen I'd quickly fill a small plastic bag with some food, and get a couple of knives for obvious reasons. I'd also get the shed keys and get some wellies on and a gardening fork (this particular fork I have has a small hand garden fork 3 point head, but with a long staff on the end) which has a bit of range, is lightweight, and both the handle (whack) and fork points (stab) can be used as good weapons. From there I would travel up the back road of the village that goes up a hill, and proceed up towards a hotel about half a mile up. I'd either stay there depending on how safe it was, and if any zombies were there etc. If not, I'd continue to my friend L's house (If I set up base at the hotel I'd visit him sooner or later anyway).
If you're heading out, how do you plan to get there?
- For plan A, after a week I'd venture outside my base (ladders would do for getting in and out since zombies would struggle to climb them).Since I'm in the countryside, a farm would be my top priority, along with the village shop. At a farm I'd take chickens so I could have a constant food supply of eggs if my base is cut off for a long period of time (chickens survive off very little feed for a long time), more conventional food in fridges etc, chicken feed, and possibly a shotgun and shells which most farmers tend to have.
- For plan B act same as A for heading out.
Got anyone you want to take with you?
- For plan A, any survivor that isn't hostile is welcome.
- For plan B I'd get L as aforementioned. As well as being a good friend he has an air rifle and is a fairly good shot. Also plan A applies in this case.
How will you communicate with the outside world, or do you plan to go the hermit route?
- When venturing out, If I was travelling to large towns and cities to look for survivors/supplies/better hideout I'd walk along the railway passing our village, which goes right up to Glasgow. There would be few zombies, if any, walking along and the railway is invisible from the roads where zombies probably would be.
How are you planning to get food and water?
- See "If you're heading out" for food. Various forms of precipitation would suffice for a water supply.
What's your weapon of choice? Do you need to reload that thing? Gotta plan for that?
-That fork thing I talked about, L's air rifle, anything I find. Molotovs and petrol bombs would be useful too since they are light, easy to prepare & find materials for (alcohol/petrol, tissue, matches/lighter, glass bottle) and not to mention they cook a few zombies. The plan is stab, whack, shoot (that sounds a little wrong but you know what I mean)
Got a survival philosophy?
Always have a backup plan, avoid underestimating objectives/zombies, always carry a weapon, always be prepared to run, ignorance isn't bliss - make sure you've covered all your bases entrances and explored it fully and remember it isn't a movie and that you will die if you play hero.
Plan for the worst, hope for the best.
Are you willing to hook up with other survivors?
- Yep as long as they aren't hostile.By this I mean appointing themselves leader, constantly putting everyone in danger, threatening to throw/actually throwing individuals that are OK to the zombies. There's no place for voting or leadership in any zombie base I may be in - especially not Captain Rhodes style stuff. Decisions made are the most logical ones, not the one with the most votes.
Is your plan based on a book/movie/blog/scientist we may have heard of?
- My imagination.Maybe I subconsciously added in bits I saw in films, although I haven't done that on purpose.

- Sleeping bag - First aid kit - Pocket book on medicines (How they work, what they do, side effects) - Money (Who knows, the zombies may be wiped out by the military in a few days, then it's back to civilisation) - Knife - Water bottle - Disinfectant - Shake-to-power torch - Towel - Clothes (x1: hat, pair of gloves, waterproof jacket/trousers, fleece, long sleeve shirt. x2: T-shirt, trousers.x3: Underwear, socks) - Spare pair of shoes - Spare blanket (For another survivor) - Tissue/toilet roll - x2 Walkie talkies - Toothbrush/toothpaste (May not seem important, but if your teeth rot and fall out from it then eating is more of a struggle) - Soap - Long lasting food (No cans) - Matches and lighter - x2 Bottles of booze (For drinking & molotovs) - Notepad + pencil Notes
- All the stuff I own (Including the bag) and yes it all fits. - This doesn't include what I'm wearing, which will probably be Normal attire + Boots and home made bite proof armour, along with forky. - This is what I can carry while being able to run fairly easily. I really don't know how others think they can carry their stuff plus rifles, shotguns, machine guns etc while running. - I will have the Bug out bag either on or within easy reach at all times in case of the base being penetrated
