Beretta 950 JetfireModel: Beretta 950 Jetfire
The Jetfire was introduced in 1952 as the basis of a long line of pocket pistols by Beretta. The Jetfire is a tiny pistol, meant only for personal protection, and as such is chambered for the tiny .25 ACP round. It's an extremely simple blowback-operated pistol, though of good quality compared to many pocket pistols; the slide and barrel are carbon steel and the frame is aluminum to keep the weight down.

The design has changed very little in the 50+ years of production; the biggest difference is the introduction of a safety beginning in 1968 to allow for continued importation. The Jetfire can also be found in the Minx variety with a longer barrel and chambered for .22 Short.

Where to find

The Jetfire and similar pocket pistols are very popular for personal defense, especially when larger calibers would be too expensive or impractical. Depending on the condition, Jetfires cost as low as $100 to $300.

Complexity

The Jetfire is based on older Beretta models like the 1934, and much like these guns it remains a very solid and dependable, if small, pistol. The .25 ACP round is believed to be more reliable than the comparable .22LR due to the centerfire design and it includes a tilting barrel that allows for a single round to be loaded into the chamber.
