CAS13F's Survival Plan
Part 1: Bugging In
As for Bugging In, I have little to do. I live on a military base in the common barracks. The building is concrete block and pretty much all interior doors automatically lock. Mostly I'd be doing what they told me to do, as we have standardized BOBs which are worn during field training which include all of the necessities other than food for three days in this alaskan wilderness. They are always put together. My barracks houses both supply and the arms room for the battalion.
Part 2: Bugging Out
This is harder. I would have to desert for this, which isn't happening until my command structure is dead. In the theoretical side, I have an '87 Dodge Ramcharger set up for here that can handle the roads and offroading if needed. It has plenty of towing capacity and room for all of my gear plus one or two of my battle buddies and their gear. Currently, a possibly BOL is a lumber yard about six miles off, which has plenty of pre-prepared lumber that can be utilized. It's fairly remote, but being the only (commercial) source of firewood in the area, I'm pretty sure that it is well known and would likely be occupied by the time I got there. If I'm bugging out, it will be traveling in search of a good BOL, and possibly geocaches if I can place them.
Part 3: Digging In
N/A, as I don't currently have a BOL. Digging in on-base pretty much means assembling at the motor pool or ammunition supply point to receive basic issue.
Part 4: Living
Life is hard, nearing on impossible, in Alaska during the winters. Vehicles die, gear fails, and not much of anything grows. First things first is surviving long enough for the roads to clear up. Then getting the hell out of here to find a more hospitable location to set up a main base, which will subsist off both farming and hunting. Hopefully it can eventually reach the status of a small town with several farms for dairy and meat, vegetables and fruits, and we can subsist on what we produce without actually RELYING on hunting.
