CZ 75Model: CZ 75
The Česká zbrojovka Uherský Brod CZ 75 occupies a unique place in history as one of the first of the of the "Wonder Nines", a 9x19mm Parabellum handgun with a double-stack magazine and double-action trigger. The Wonder Nine concept was what allowed 9mm handguns to see worldwide popularity, especially in America where high caliber revolvers once dominated police departments. The CZ 75 was first produced in 1975 and has been widely distributed around the world, with a reputation as a quality gun for a decent price. It uses a similar operation to the Browning Hi-Power.

Unusually for a double-action handgun, the CZ 75 does not normally include a decocker, with only some later models including them. The CZ 75B includes a firing pin block to prevent the weapon from firing without a trigger pull. The CZ 85 is an updated version with ambidextrous controls, and also includes a B version. The CZ85B D is a CZ85B with a safety/decocker. The CZ 75 is available in compact and SemiCompact versions. Along with the many other versions, the CZ 75 AUTOMATIC is a select-fire variant with the option of inserting a magazine in front of the trigger guard to act as a makeshift foregrip.

Where to find

The CZ 75, much like the Beretta 92, is a high-capacity pistol that can be found in many gun stores across America. While collectors pay $2500-3000 for the rarest original models, most modern guns are priced at $200-600.

Complexity

The CZ 75 is a generally reliable handgun. The one oddity is the earlier guns lacking a decocker, with only a manual safety.

When it comes to a 9mm handgun, it takes alot to impress me, they are all produce about the same results. Recently a friend sold me his little used CZ for a bargin price, suffice it to say, after a day on the range, I was impressed with this weapon. The handing, speed of target aquisition, firepower, workmanship, were all excellent.
The only downside to this weapon is the retail price, and the cost of spare magazines. For the money, the hi cap 18 rd mag is a little better deal in my opinion, since you're shelling out nearly 50 bucks per.
If you can find a clean used one, for a good price, jump on it.
