Cell

I was kind of shocked when i didn't find this on the wiki, but i think we need it.
If you don't know what "cell" is its a book written by the horror master Stephen King. Its about a signal that is sent to millions of people by cell phones that cause's people to turn in to a zombie-like killing machine.
What would you do in this case? You couldn't use a cell phone and everybody that does will turn in to one. After a few days the "zombies" start turning smart, and are even able to do mind control. Could you deal with all the "zombies"? Before you think you know what your survival plan is try to fit this in it.

Monkeyfacedzombie - a more detailed summary -
a signal (the pulse) is sent out through the mobile phone network, when people hear this it wipes their minds blank and they become insane killing machines. After a while of killing these people "flock" together, and form a sort of telepathic link, becoming a hive mind. They go to sleep/coma at night and are peaceful towards each other, but kill every normal person they see. They are still human, susceptible to disease and infections, hunger and thirst.
I am glad someone brought this up, it is a brilliant book, and opens the possibility of a zombie-like apocalypse without the pathogen. read it, it's very gripping and good, and i hope i haven't spoiled the ending.

McSkullcracken: This was a truly awesome read, I suggest everyone on this Wiki read it. The zombies King presents are different from others that I have come across, though they do have some resemblance to the runners in the two '28' movies. The real challenges in this are also something the Wiki has yet to take on their discussions. The means of 'infection' is through a signal broadcast on all cell phone networks i.e. you use a cell phone and you become infected. Naturally this means of infection means millions of zombies created within an hour of the start of the signal, in all different areas. This means of infection is also horrible in that the only people not susceptible to it are those whithout cell phones, mostly seniors and younger children.
Think about it for a minute. How many people, upon first hearing about zombies, would have a first reaction of reaching for their cell phone to call a friend or family member? How many of you would have that as their first reaction. Should (when?) zombies come about, this is potentially one of the worst ways infection could happen.
The other thing to consider Stephen King's type of zombie is the evolution it takes. While I don't want to spoil the book for those who will read it, the situation does progressively get worse and more complicated.
So, the big question, how would those of you on this site react to the zombies presented in Cell, provided you don't become one?

SurvivorREO: I loved that book, but if that were to happen i would stop and think about my checklist. If people are just moaning then i wouldn't care about using a cellphone or not. If they're acting like homicidal zombies WHILE speaking gibberish, Cell phone gets thrown in nearest river. I wouldn't dare hunt those things either. Unless i used c4 and tons of gas to light em up. It would just be best to stay out of sight and kill them all in one shot. if it was against a small group or maybe the chaos of the first few days then i would try to kill them thou. They aren't the smartest at first but later on *shivers*.
