Picture this.
You're base has been somehow compromised. Luckily, you have a secondary fallback base on the other side of town! You put your gear in your vehicle and drive two blocks before realising that your plan has failed. Zombies block the streets like living, rotting barricades. You try to get out as quickly as possible, but the sound of your vehicle's engine, the moan of the undead, and the sounds of your firearms combined attract more and more zombies. Soon the writhing mounds of zombies surround your vehicle. Your passenger lets off a spray of rifle fire through the window. A zombie grabs his arm and bites; he's infected! It is only a matter of time before you are perish in your metal tomb designed to protect you. This worst-case scenario is just that - a worst-case scenario. But it does show that nobody can plan for the amount of zombies that will be blocking you from point A to point B. Some people plan for a hundred or less zombies. What if there are a thousand? Others plan for a thousand zombies. What if there are five thousand? And so on. An
EXTREMELY VITAL skill to prepare for is causing diversions.

Diversion Name: Bomb on a StickUse When?: Use to cause a temporary distraction to a small group of zombies or (to some extent) other humans. It can be used whenever you find a small group in a somewhat open area.Description: Bomb on a Stick involves using duct tape or another kind of sturdy tape to attach a grenade or other explosive device to a crossbow bolt. When the user is ready, they pull the pin and fire the weapon. If all works correctly, the grenade will be shot towards the destination planned and explode. Zombies in the area will be attracted to the noise, and even other survivors will be temporarily distracted to see if something's attacking themBoom withBox explosives.Materials:User: 182crazyking 1 hand grenade or other timed explosive device. 1 crossbow. 1 bolt (any shape) for said crossbow. Make sure the bolt sticks out from the crossbow! 5-10 inches of duct tape or any other kind of heavy-duty
tape Steps: Using the tape, attach the grenade to the part of the bolt that sticks out from the crossbow. Make sure not to cover the pin or the lever! Load the bolt into the weapon. If it is sufficiently longer than the weapon, it should still fit nicely. Take aim near a group of zombies or humans. Make sure not to fire directly into the group; ten to fifteen feet away should suffice. Be sure not to be seen, either! QUICKLY pull the pin and fire. If you did it correctly, the bolt should fly to your destination and explode after a few seconds. As quitely and as quickly as you can, do whatever you wanted to do (run past the group, pick somethingPrerequisites: up, etc.). Escape or return to not being seen before the group recovers from their distraction.Notes: Becuase of the extra weight on the tip of the crossbow, you will needPrimarily to aim upward a bit. Diversion Name: Difficulty:Boom Box IUse When?: Primarily[1/10] to- escapeIt's a heavilymatter infestedof zoneactivate and notrun comewith backvery toosimple soon.components.
Description: It involves using a boom box (stereo, radio - whatever you want to call it) to attract zombies to the location. On the other side of wherever you are, a team would be getting ready to move out while the zombies would be distracted by the music coming out of the stereo.
Materials:
- 1 stereo boom box, or similar device that can play music very loud!
- A full amount of batteries for said device
- A CD, MP3 player, or similar device that can make the stereo spew music - preferably the loudest music possible (i.e. heavy metal or rock over R&B or blues).
Steps:
- Get a person willing to drop a stereo in a somewhat infested area and high-tail it back to base.
- Have said person set up the boom box, start it's music, and get the hell out of there. Make sure that the song loops (continues over and over when it's done)! It may be wise to record instructions for survivors to stay away, depending.
- Get ready to move out and not come back for a while. Zombies should start walking towards the stereo!
- When there are only small trickles of zombies going to the music, high-tail it out of the city and don't look back until you're gone!
Notes: Remember that this strategy creates streams of zombies all walking towards the radio. There's a small window of oppritunity when the zombies are not going to the boom box, but aren't going back, either. Use it! Warnings: Be wary of other survivors. Tell the nearby survivors of your strategy; if they send out a scav team, unaware of your plan, the team might not come back!
