Well I'm getting another gun soon and I want to know what gun would be good.
My definition of good in this situation is: 1. Will there be an abundance of ammo. 2. Will a shot kill its target be that a zed or a raider? 3. cheap yet effective? 4. light? 5. is it fast and accurate enough for mid range combat but is it small enough for cqb? 6. legal in california. (I know that the ruger is.) 7. reliable if there is another gun that fits this criteria then post it.

We as members on this site often discuss types of weapons whether they be firearms
or bludgoens, swords,machete's etc..... that we would want to have in a "Z" Apocalypse. I am curious as to what type of weapons do members of this site currently own in the real world ? I am aware that gun ownership/gun laws vary greatly from country to country . If you live in a country that is prohibitively difficult to obtain/own a firearm, then what is your plan to obtain firearms/other weapons prior to God forbid that our world should descend into a "Z" Apocalypse or any "ELE" (exctinction level event)

once the zombies emerge, and civilization has past. horses will reemerge as the best mode of transportation
car/trucks/etc will become useless in a matter of years. fuel goes bad and/or runs out. batteries get FUBAR along with tires, brakes, belts, hoses to name a few. sure there are plenty of parts stores and abandoned cars, but car batteries inevitably go bad whether they are being used or not. what will you do then? you need a horse. horses have been the mode of tranportation for thousands of years. as long as you have grass and water you have a ride!
