This plan (and lots of others) depends on whether Z-Day makes intelligent zombies. If the outbreak causes intelligent zombies who can remember stuff and can actively use resources, then I'm screwed.

If I get any advance warning, I'll head to an area which is difficult to get into, and takes time to get into (like a mountain or valley). During this time, people entering will be very vunerable to interruption (eg. Shotgun blast, sharp freaking arrow, etc.). Or maybe a small island in the Pacific.

If it was an island, I'd sail there on a yacht, maybe a few tied together (probably stolen ones, but hey this is Z-Day, the owners will be undead husks who don't really care about losing their boats). I'd take building materials with me like carbon-fibre sheeting, glass sheets, aluminium, and welding tools. I'd also take a distiller, a really good one. Then I'd take some sort of power supply, like a solar generator.

I'd probably bring my girlfriend, and anyone who's willing to get a boat and help me fortify this island.

The island would have to have a source of fresh water, and hopefully some sort of meat-providing animals

I'd also take a selection of firearms, and as much ammo as possible for them. This would be incase an attack occurs (eg. Pirates jealous of my awesome little island, Zombies who like floating)

I'd intend to be in the situation for the long run, until the zombies either run out of food and eat each other, or until some magical loophole causes the zombies to spontaneously a splode. If they don't, I'll be happy living my life on this island with the people who came with me, and chances are there'll be a few islands nearby. I might journey to the mainland and get more survivors, which would make my island fort bigger. Hell, I might end up being the saviour of humanity, just that humanity will live on a handful of islands and on the sea.

This plan would be a bit like the Swiss Family Robinson, except I'd come prepared.
