Fighting from a vehicle has its advantages and disadvantages. Most vehicles are extremely mobile so hit and run, and sweeping tactics are easy. Also, any converted four-wheeled vehicles can provide shelter and a good shooting line of sight. Storage options also increase and you could even make your vehicle into a moving infirmary. You can also run over any zombies who shamble onto the track in front of you. Although this probably won't kill it, it'll leave it crippled for your shooters in the back to finish off.
Some disadvantages are that when travellingtraveling at high speeds through an urban area, wrecked cars and roadblocks will probably stop you in your tracks, leaving you as easy pickings for any of the walking dead. Also, if a large group of zombies manage to grab your vehicle they could possibly tip it over, leaving you trapped.

I love the idea of a mobile shooting platform. One skilled driver and a passenger with a map in the front whilst a man on top with maybe a pistol or rifle, then in the back, two or three shooters armed with hunting rifles, LMGs and maybe a few Molotov Cocktails to lob at clusters of zombies. I think this tactic would work best with a pickup truck or SUV in big wide spaces.
