can u guys help me?
1)would a bivvi be ok in a Z-Day world e.g in a dense forest in the middle of nowhere? 2)Weapons--BIG hassle. im 13 in uk--no gun shops( i dont think) most stuff is age restricted. 3)just a tip- if u r under 18 join a cadet force!(ACF/Marine cadets)the skills are valuable! 4)BOLs are a bit of a thin choice. mine is the nothe fort in weymouth as it is less than 500m away from my house and has a nuclear bunker in case our government decide to nuke us (god forbid) google earth it, it is quite good.

I can't find a section on suppresors. Seems to me that there should be section on suppressors in accessories given that the sound of gunfire is is very likely to attract the attention of any zombies nearby.
Now I know that it is impossible to completely silence a firearm but you can make them quiet enough so that the sound of the action of the gun is as loud or louder than the muzzle report. In my opinion this should be the #1 consideration in your choice of firearm for the inevitible zombie apocalypse. That said I'd like to share some of my thoughts on suppressing a firearm as much as possible and the pro's and cons of the various different options available for a "silent" firearm. Firstly I'd like to point out that I am of the humble opinion that the best choice for a primary firearm for zombie defense is a semi-auto rifle or carbine. Handguns not accurate enough over long range, shotguns are too noisy and shortrange, bolt/lever action rifles do have some advantages but the time taken to load the next round could ultimately cost your life. There are two factors that create most of noise when firing a gun; 1. The actual muzzle blast 2. the Supersonic crack over the bullet as it breaks the sound barrier. To eliminate the ballistic crack is easy - choose a round that is subsonic like the .45 ACP .380 ACP or the .300 whisper or 300 blackout.( there are many more that are subsom=nic I just don't know all of them ideally look for a round that travels at 1050ft/s or slower) You can get subsonic rounds in a lot of other calibers but you would usually have to pay more for the ammo. Also the dimunitive .22lr is such a smaller round that the ballistic crack would be relatively quiet anyway. The .45 is probably one of the most common subsonic rounds (always a good idea to choose a weapon that has a caliber where it will be easy to find more ammo for) has a lot of stopping power but rangei s< 200 yards.

While shooting on my family's private property, my gf was standing about 7 feet behind me. We both wore our hearing protection but after about 30 rounds she took her ear plugs out. She said that it wasn't that loud. So I thought it would be the perfect opportunity to have her shoot my 9mm without hearing protection. I loaded one round in the magazine and she fires it off. She almost drops the gun because it was so loud.
Now the point to my thread. In a zombie apocalypse, your senses are going to be important tools for survival. So if you cannot fire a 9mm Handgun without hearing protection, how are you supposed to hear if a zed is on your ass?

So I was looking at the "Flashlights" section of this page and I saw that the pictures were demonstrating shooting techniques with Falshlights, the one depicted is the "Rogers" Method, the problem I see with this method is that one hand is holding the light and one the pistol, but we all know that shooting with two hands is more accurate and controllable so I want to spread my wisdom on the suject
I have a couple issues of "Surefire:Combat Tactics" and one of the articles is on low light shooting and it was a former US Air Marshal who wanted to be able to use a flashlight while having a two handed grip, his duty firearm did not have a rail for the purpose of concealment, so he developed his own technique, I can't remember what it is called but here is what you do Take a light that has a tailcap-switch (I have a G2 Nitrolon) and place it between your ring and middle finger on your weak-side hand so the tailcap juts out only a bit (For me the space between the cap and body of the light is where the web of my hand goes) then grag your pistol with your strong side then place your weak hand like you normally would, the tailcap switch should either be actuated by the knuckles on your strong hand or the trgger guard of your firearm Surefire Combat Rings would make this a bit easier to both do as well as understand this method Let me know what you think and if you think it would work

The .300 whisper/blackout is a great subsonic round, a fairly large round, quiet, accurate to about 200 - 300 yards and the common or garden AR-15 can be modified to take them. The problem with them is they are a bit expensive and uncommon. So to complete my ramblings on here are some suggestions for a suppressed firearm.
1) An AR-15 modified to fire .300 whisper/blackout rounds and fitted with a good suppressor. This will be expensive to there's redtape and technical hurdles to overcome but ticks all the boxes- quiet, powerful, accurate, 30 round mag. Only drawback is the expenisve and uncommon ammo- so stock up lots of ammo. 2) The Kriss vector SBR in .45 acp caliber fitted with it's own specific suppressor. One of the most innovative firearms out there. Powerful, 30 round mag but lacks accuracy over 100 yards and is a Very expensive gun. Mags can also be used in your Glock .45ACP. 2) The Delisle Comando- Perhaps one of the quitest firearms ever made. A WWII .45 ACP bolt action Carbine. The advantage of the bolt action is that it forces you to make every shot count the disadvantage is you have to manually load each round. The 10 round Mags can be used in 1911a. 4) Any semi-auto .22 rifle fitted with a good suppressor is going to be quiet- plus the ammo is very common and light so you can carry more rounds. The downside is a .22 won't do much damage. 5) A good crossbow fitted with a decent scope. OK, I know, it's not a firearm but it is quieter than any firearm and you can make/retrieve the ammo quiet easily, making it perhaps an essential backup weapon regardless how much guns/ammo you have. Also a lot of my suggestions here you are illegal, depending on which part of the world you live in, except for this last one. Hope you find my comment helpful

Combine the technology of a laser rangefinder and a laser sight. The laser shines out, finds how far away the target is, and the small computer at the gun end tells the the laser to adjust its angle for distance - with the laser sitting in a little automated turret of sorts. This, combined with a bigger and more powerful laser, allows you to shoot at far greater distances. Amirite?

seems like one of the most useful, line up the red dot and you multiply your accuracy.

I believe it is actually called the EO Tech holosight, and not an E scope. Also its original usage was not only with the military, but elements also elements of law enforcement (S.W.A.T.) as well FBI field agents.

Okay, as ammo might be scarce for some of us, I think I want a firearm with a lot of HTH use too.
I have a constant debte over my primary weaps of being a bolt-action .22 or a 12Ga Shotgun. I'm now leaning towards the shotgun, because I can get a bayonet for it and it's a little bit heavier, so the stock is more dangerous. Im thinking about filing the bottom of my stock down so it's flat and putting in some screws to make it nastier as a club. Any thoughts on how to get more out of your weapons?

Just how good are the laser sights? I'm considering getting one for my H&K USP 40 S&W and I was wondering if anyone has had any experience with using the sights.

there is just no custom part of it, it looks like something i could buy off ebay as a Z-killer kit 2.0, i mean dont get me wrong its a cool pack of weapons.but theres nothing but firearms. i mean whats more personal, sniping a Z from 200yards away, or riding up and shotgunning to the face.or way back when riding up on a black horse with a black cape and slicing off heads

My personal favorite is the enlarged mag, you don't have to reaload as of ten and extremely good if your in semi auto tuns of bullets. the only con i can think of is the fact that there big and you most likely can't bring a bunch with you . Cams, good for those documenturies and such. Box sights, i personaly like the red dot sight better but its just my opinion
Hope you liked my Weapon accesories opinions

you can attach one from A airsoftgun onto a real fire arm wich is a lot cheaper you have to adjust it to the gun and sight it in at first
