Firearms Training/Safety IssuesThis is a featured page

1. All guns are always loaded.
2. Never let the muzzle cover anything you are not willing to destroy.
3. Keep your finger off the trigger until your sights are on the target.
4. Be sure of your target and what is beyond it.
-Jeff Cooper, the grand old man of pistol fighting, on the four rules of firearms safety.

Opening up this page set to help consolidate and make easier to use those threads and questions dealing with Real Life Firearms questions and answers.

Purpose here is to have our Zombie Wiki users with real questions, and in turn real answers have a singular spot to come to and congregate.

Glib, foolish, or spammalicious posts will be nuked on sight, those posters will be given a lengthy "Time Out". The endless "My AK can kick your AR's ass" and similar posts will also be tossed off this section with malice.

Pre-Zed times when firearms are regulated by various State and Country Laws must be accounted for. Prior to a breakdown of Laws and Rules, everything must be worked with, obeyed and listened to.
As much as I hate these Laws, they are the final word according to the Courts we will be judged by when we willingly break them.

Under NO circumstances will breaking the Law, Pre-Zed be tolerated, winked at, nudged, or ignored.

****************************************************

Post-Zed, The Days Humanity Died, Existing World Fell Apart, Days Unkle Zed Dances will have a huge impact on Firearms and other Tools of War and Self Protection.
With no Law, and no Judges, whatever you find and can hang onto is yours to use.

In our discussions here, it is a powerful need to start your post with either "Now, Pre-Zed" or "Then, Post-Zed", when making your Opening Post.

**********************************************

Most of all it is my purpose here in this section to help folks meet up, share information, ask questions honestly, be treated without rancor and anger, and in turn be educated on those things requiring attentions by those of we who have some Real World Trigger Time.

Feel free to lay out your experiencs, qualifications, and abilities. Please be circumspect in telling the *World* about what you have and own. Remember that this Wiki is open to *everyone* who reads. You are free to say what you like about your tools, but remember that you are letting readers know what is inventory.

fixdeluxe1 How to shoot faster whilst retaining accuracy? (page: 1 2) 27 May 11 2011, 12:41 AM EDT by fixdeluxe1

I was at the pistol range today, and fired off a few rounds at 15 yards. The guy two lanes accross from me made me feel ashamed of myself,as he was a million times faster than me.He had smooth trigger control, effective recoil handling and emptied his entire 7 round mag(he was using a 1911) in something crazy like a few seconds(this is outdoor).I am pathetically slow, but precise and accurate. It takes almost half a second for me to squeeze off another round with my sights lined up after each shot.

Any advice,or general discussion,in relation to speed shooting?

P.S The guy is on his way to compete at IPSC I think.I also use a variation of the weaver stance, with my reaction(left-hand) bent at the elbow and my shooting arm(right) locked at the elbow with my right leg locked and supporting to the rear, and my left leg to the front slightly bent at the knees.
