First Signs of a Zombie Outbreak
- First, there would be reports from news agencies of strange disappearances and instances of cannibalism. These reports would likely be suppressed or explained away as the work of cults or terrorists. Individuals will experience firsthand the horror of the living dead and either flee or stay to fight. Resistance groups may form, but lacking adequate preparation and knowledge, their reanimated corpses will likely be seen in the ranks of the undead.
- Slowly, the virus will trickle into the world and infect the centers of society. Gathering places such as schools, hospitals and factories will become hotspots for infection and transmission. Chaos and anarchy will erupt as the pillars of society crumble under undead assault and the sheer weight of human need.
- Major media outlets would pick up on the story. Governments will call for calm while preparing containment measures. Living in the immediate vicinity of the infection will be unpleasant, to say the least.
