However, you have to keep in mind that keeping watch is a boring job, and after a while, the average human would lose focus and not see things a person fresh from sleep would have. What I had in mind was that two shifts would alternate every hour to ensure that the watch men are keeping watch, while the third group gets eight hours of shut eye. Once the eight hours are up, the group that has been on the watch the longest gets to nab 8 hours of sleep, while the other group takes over watch like normal, and the third group grabs something to eat and makes sure they are awake.
