IMI Galil ARM 5.56mmModel: IMI Galil
As a weapon in front line service with the Israeli military, you know the Galil is a good weapon. Since 1972 the Galil has been in service with the Israel Defense Forces and Knesset Guard (equivilant to guarding the United States Capitol Building or Parliament) and has been used by a multitude of other countries.

The Galil can be found in four different configurations: the standard AR rifle, the SAR carbine, the MAR compact carbine, and the ARM squad support weapon (pictured above). The AR, SAR, and ARM variants can also be found in 7.62x51mm NATO, which also includes the Galil Sniper, a semi-auto only rifle with a heavy match barrel, combination flash suppressor/muzzle brake, bipod, and other modifications. The Magal was an unsuccessful law enforcement MAR chambered in .30 Carbine, the SR-99 is a modernized Galil Sniper, the Galil ACE is a Colombian modernization available in several calibers, and the Golani is a semi-automatic civilian rifle with an American receiver.

Where to find

Along with military use around the world, including Colombia, Costa Rica, and various African nations, the civilian Golani can be purchased for about $570-600, making it cheaper than the average AR-15 and only slightly more expensive than an AK.

Complexity

Designed for the Israeli military, the Galil is an extremely tough and reliable rifle. The use of a muzzle brake on the barrel allows for low climb when fired and it even has a bottle opener and wire cutter built into the bipod.
