I've spent a few days putting together my survival kit, both helpful for the event of Z-day, or and disaster. I know I am missing a few things still, but I have the following:
Gloves
A warm hat (very important)
Two ropes, light weight but long and strong
A small, wooden club which can do more damage then expected
A heavier club, more powerful but bulkier and heavier (would be more used than previously mentioned club)
A short, medium and long wave radio, hand cranked.
A bottle of methylated spirits.
A few shorter lengths of rope.
A couple of meters of fabric (I'd say about two), could be used for blankets, fashioning simple clothes or repairing other ones.
A few simple tools: two screwdrivers, wrench, allen keys and pliers
A torch
A lighter
Matches
Pain killers
Thread, needle, pins.
small binoculars
Chalk (could be very helpful for marking spots for others)
Couple of pens
Blank book.
I know I am severely lacking in some very important things: clothes (i would need at lease one spare set, no?), food, and medical supplies. I plan to also get a hatchet, and that would replace my larger club. Some simple cooking supplies, and a small cooker would also be useful.
I have a sleeping bag, but I'm not sure if I would take it.
For a gun, my plan would involve going to the place where my rifle is stored (long story)
Is there anything else I am forgetting/shouldn't take?
