Your Name:Grant Your "handle" should we look for you on the radio waves or web: I am Grant the Hatman on the radio (if I had a radio) and the web.
Your location:East of New Virginia Iowa on the weekends during the school year. Iowa Western Community College in Council Bluffs Iowa on weekdays during the school year.
No, I dont live in town and I doubt that they will get me all the way out in the middle of nowhere, but just in case I made the plan. If the plan fails, I go to the nearest volcano and build a house near the top, that way the zombies have a harder time getting there.
When in Council Bluffs, yes. Council Bluffs is a big city near an even bigger city, Omaha. Zombies would be everywhere.
Will you be staying in your home or headed somewhere else?
I would stay at home for about a month and then wait and see what has happened since then. If the threat is low and my supplys at home are still good then I stay. If not I move to a neighbors house.
If I were in Council Bluffs at the time, I get the heck out of there. My dorm room is very dangerous, even without the zombies. The whole campus is pretty open and the zombies could see, smell, or hear me from just about anywhere there. I would take the highway out of town and head back to New Virginia.
If you're heading out, how do you plan to get there?
I will walk if it is possable, use a bike if I need speed, and drive the truck if it is too dangerous to do the other two.
I cant bike or walk out of Council Bluffs, I would take my S-10 and go East. That would be a long bike ride, and an even longer walk.
Got anyone you want to take with you?
Everyone, I will gladly let anyone join me, but there is a 48 hour holding cell for all new comers because I dont want to be undead and 48 hours should be plenty of time to see if they will turn.
How will you communicate with the outside world, or do you plan to go the hermit route?
I plan on haveing a radio, that way I can radio my friends in other bases. While the internet is still working I could communicate that way if it were at all possable. If the phones work then they are an option too.
How are you planning to get food and water?
I plan on getting water by treating the pond water on my property if that is possable but I will aslo have plenty of bottled water just in case. Food will be no issue because I can hunt, fish, and farm (but I hope it doesnt come to farming).
What's your weapon of choice? Do you need to reload that thing? Gotta plan for that?
I would use the contents of the gun safe but try to avoid it. My guns are a worst case scenario kind of thing. My first choice is whatever I have on me at the time, even if it is just my hands and feet.
In Council Bluffs I am completely unarmed, I have my hands and feet and that is it. I could improvise with the random crap I would find, like chair legs or glass bottles but it woldnt be very savfe.

Stay alive, if you cant do that you are not much of a survivor.
Are you willing to hook up with other survivors?
Yes, but they will spend 48 hours in the holding cell if they come to me. If I go to them I would recomend them puting me in the holding cell.
Is your plan based on a book/movie/blog/scientist we may have heard of?
Nope, this is all common sense kind of stuff. I finaly got a chance to read the Zombie Survival Guide and it has helped confirm my ideas.
"Cell" Scenario
I recently saw the "cell" issue of the week. It is apparently where cell phones are the cause of the zombies. First, I would have to have heard it from someone else useing something other than the cell phone, or else I would be kind of in trouble. If I mannage to avoid the phone situation, I would take more of an offenceive approach to the situation. Step 1, find everyone you know and tell them what happened but the ones who live far far away send them an email or instant message and pray they are in good hands and instruct everyone to destroy the cell phones and the towers at a later time. Step 2, organize the survivors and make my one of my buddies the leader. Step 3, kill any cell zombies on your way to the agreed upon base. Step 4, designate a portion of the survial team as the watchmen and a smaller portion as the scout/supply gathering people. Step 5, once you have done all of the above and have some more information on the situation attack a close, low zombie population town or hold on for dear life.
