Another idea I've had, is travelling along railway tracks. I'm from Buckinghamshire and most of them there are pretty rural, so I don't think you will encounter zeds, Railway tracks are funnily enough fortified too, as in they either have 10 foot ( about 3 metre ) walls, and/or barbed fencing e.g. going into marylebone.
However I wouldn't risk the tubes (subway/ metro) On foot in motorways or on a bike would be good for travelling, prooviding the roads aren't completely full of traffic zeds.

Waterbeach CTC is the United Kingdoms Designated Bug Out Location, it has a large pantry (Food Supplies) several water tanks, Accommodation to house 120+ People and is a fenced off compoud with 7ft Razor Wire Perimeter Fencing and to top it all of it has a working armoury containing around 40 SA80A2 (General Purpose) Semi Automatic 5.56mm Assault Rifles, 12+ Light Support Weapons Fully Automatic 5.56mm Support Gun and a fair few 20ga shotguns, .223 No.8 Rifles, Target Rifles (7.62mm Sniper Rifle) and on occasion GPMG's (General Purpose Machine Guns) and if that isn't enough the working run way and air field can probably assist in its usefulness. And just the icing on the cake is that is it only around 50 Yards from a Military Base although its own structure is unguarded and therefor easy to access in a zombie apocalypse when all the guards will have fled or be zombies.
What to do upon Arrival: If you are the First Person Arriving at the site: Make sure Perimeter is secure any holes should be filled and repaired when possible. Make sure nobody is already within the building making sure to 'dispatch' any zombies you come across. Attatch Three objects to the Gate in this sequence 'RED, YELLOW, BLUE' could be painted, cable ties, paper or anything aslong as its in that colour sequence to show there are friendly zombie survivalists inside. What to do upon entering and it is being used by a survivalist: Make yourself known and show that you are uninfected, a full body search will be required any ill will not be allowed access. Tell the commander of your firearms training if any, any previous experience or skill set that could help. You will be assigned a duty and you should complete it with little argument. Will Carry on in next post.

If you live Nearby Oswestry Near the welsh Border The Old Hillfort Could be a Temporary Shelter
IF Enough people Get There. I for one would be Watching The roads as i live not too far away Prefect Lines of sight on the roads also a few decent vantage points for use on unwanted company, There is also a big field right on top of it which could be useful if we had a chopper and a pilot, plenty of ways down incase of being overrun i know that town off by heart and know of a few sneaky ways around to the warehouses and shops. i'm gonna try and get my hands on some radio's nothing fancy just something sturdy, reliable to place at the hillfort for when the time comes.

Ribston hall high school is right by my house and it is surrounded by 7 foot high metal spiked fencing i know my way around because i used to go to the sixth form there. the school itself is built like a prison it is completely surrounded by metal fencing other than 2 gates. I can see this place working extremely well as a settlement. however I don't want to be a hero and start one. my dad has a fire arms license and so we have firearms a .223 rifle a 17 hmr rifle and a 12 gauge shotgun as well as an air rifle. i feel like my family will more than likely die in the initial wave they will be the ones running around not knowing what to do, and i will more than likely be by my self. im going to stalk around in the surrounding areas scavenging whatever i can. i will also be going through The school i plan on doing it when i am reinforcing my house more. however i will be usually sat upon my rooftop stalking out the place through my scope and binoculars. If you decide that this looks promising and decide to meet me if you enter the gates to Rbiston i will see you and fire a shot this is how you know i am still alive stay in position and i will come and meet you. fresh pigeon and a can of beans will be served upon arrival that is a promise :P

I've noticed there are no rendezvous points for my area so i am providing one. In the town of warwick, opposite the rose and crown pub there is a statue of the boxer randolph turpin standing up. when Z-day comes i will place a hollow (but still heavy enough so that it is not blown away) slab underneath him between his two feet, the slab will look like it is meant to be there. underneath this slab will be a notepad with a supply of pens and pencils next to it. you will need to write how many people are in your group and write either sunrise, sunset or noon. if you show up at the time and i am not there, on the notepad will be a reason for my absence, whether it be that there are too many people in you're group or simply me stating another time for the meet to be made.

I will head to the TA centre where I currently attend air cadets and run the stores there. This location is surrounded by trees, a "river" and a fence and has a large main building, kitchen, armoury and cadet building. The fence is easy to jump and thestores is just a shipping container. The keys are inside a flimsy hut.
The base isthat of 243 Wessex field hospital where medical experts and combat experience is rife. There are garages containing large 4x4 vehicles along with soldier transporters. In the event of the invasion, I will gIn access to the stores containing a large number of military issue 24hr ration packs and a multitude of clothing and boots. There is a knife, body armour and an array of helmets as well as combat webbng. If only the stores was opened a group of about 10-15 could survive without too much movement. My plan is to access the stores and set up a watch under a waterproof shelter atop the container and at strategic points along the base allowing watch shifts. Inside the hut is a few new radios and a few ohwr keys to little body holes. A team will be sent out to the Hicks Gate roundabout once a day alog the dual carraigr way and one to the lock tower in the main high street at approximately noon go allow for maximum alertnes and concerntration. One party will raid the co-op across the street for perishables and other useful articles. Bring bug out bags. I hope not to see you but good luck if I do.

hello everyone, sorry i havent been on in a while. Thanks for all the tips and tactics and stuff. We need to get a specific place on the site where we can have like a map of england a post all RVs and locations of importance like police stations, pharmacies, farms and so on.
If we cant just do a print screen of google maps and put your Rv and stuff on and email it to others in you region e.g south east england etc. I will start a national map with little detail to put each town we will be staying/operating in and divide in seperate regions, then everyone do a more focused map of your local area. (zoomed in version on the large one) PLEASE SPREAD THIS IDEA, IT WILL HELP TO PLAN WHERE TO GO. |

(Just Before hand im only 16 but i do know quite a bit )A good thing about UK is that (well depending on area) we have a lot of land. I dont mean like the U.S or Russia but outside most places we have fields and stuff and not everywhere is densley populated e.g New York (bad place to be on Z day).
Where i live i have been recently looking a lot for RVE's and BOLS. I have already found an ace BOL in Hazlemere (NEXT TO HIGH WYCOMBE). I'm not gonna write about because its an ace location but i need help because im only 16. message back . and about RVE's depending on zombie type theres many locations. Firstly zombies dont tend to wander into deep woods whatever they are. I dont know about you guys but i find that they wander in roads and houses and town centres. write back...... OH and for the record dont go to london.. thats just stupid

Zombies tend to stay where the population (therefore food) is high. They are also creatures of habit... I live in a Village outside Glasgow... only 40mins away from the campsie hills, and 4 hrs away from the highlands via country roads... a 2 story outpost somewhere around these parts are my next investments, hahahaha... along with sheet metal, land mines and barbed wiring to construct my defences

mancdave,
a train is probally your best bet because trains are basicly a plow but a barge might sink or tip in rough sea.

I have just had a brainwave.
In lincolnshire there is a village called gedney. its quite small. there is, however, a massive house there. in my opinion, this would be a great place for a bug in location. i believe that the building has 6 acres of land, and would be great for holding up in. My only issue withg the place is that im not very familiar with the place as i've never been in gedney before. i know lincolnshire is mostly rural, but there must be places there for people to hold up in. im hoping this helps some poor soul when z-day strikes. Obviously, if someone reads this and thinks of a better place in lincolnshire, plz tell me or post on this thread. Thx
