Being an FPS game, the basic HUD should consist of a crosshair, ammo, and health. In our situation, we'll need the following.
Alicestar: I can see where you are coming from with wanting to make the game as real as possible but people dont want to play flight simulators all day, they want to play GTA vice city, and Halo because they can do things in those games that they cant do in real life like steal cars, beat hookers on streat corners with a crowbar or frag eachother with rocketlaunchers. the same goes for GW an WOW, I dont play GW for its realism, I play it because I can res hordes of undead minions from my enemies dead bodies and slaughter countless more! the point is this, if you make the game real, it sucks and people wont play past the intro. I have seen countless zombie games die before release because they wanted to capture all the realizm. and other zombie games make it because of the crazy or stupid unrealistic qualities that they have in them.
SH-MMOFPS/RPG can be done, i know it can but you really need to cross the lines to do so and make it a sucsess.
- Crosshair. Instead of the static crosshair in most games, the crosshair will rise, fall, and shake. However, your fire will always go where your crosshair is. This makes accuracy a real problem in the game, and standing still will stop some of the movement. Depending on the amount of nearby zombies, you will shake more. If there's a horde of zombies infront, you'll be getting as close as you can to shitting yourself in a game.
- Ammo. Depending on the weapon you have equipped, all the ammo for that type of weapon will be displayed in a box in the bottom right corner. It is also possible to cycle through all the different loadings for that ammo (eg. AP, Tracer, Normal, DU)
- Gun. Shows what gun you have equipped. Tiny window above the ammo.
- Minimap. Shows the nearby area on a map, and any nearby human establishments you know of.
- World Map. Shows a large map of all the zones you have explored, the zone will be clearer on the world map once you have properly explored it (70% explored). Can be accessed by pressing... Q!
