BaddBree Quiet weapons to use from a distance (page: 1 2) 29 Jul 29 2012, 12:17 PM EDT by BigLoki

Many people don't have training using crossbow or similar type weapons including myself. I think that to keep down on noise and especially if you are a small group sneaking past a horde of zombies then its a nice skill to have learned. I plan on learning this skill within the next week or so. Keep other weapons with ammunition ready in case of failure. When scavenging for ammunition most of the supplies will be taken already. Usually people leave arrows and such.

Tramp springs

The build
First make steel plate into crossbow shape
Then cut 10in gap in cross section
After that rig up 2 wheel and axles
And take the springs and hock the wheels together
Add the motor and your done
Tip make sure the wheels spin away from each other

Wep2
Stoner micro
10cm roller
9 volt battery
Wire
Wood block
Roller blade wheel
Smaller tramp like springs

First make gun like handel from the wood block
Carve a hole for the battery and motor and hook up your roller and wheel to the moter by pulley and rubber band

This is not all of my weps but there my simplest ones so this gets u started and have fun thay shot almost every thing from spears to rock pieces ideas other weps are welcom I'm going to bed I will post more later

AlbertanSurvivor practicality (page: 1 2) 21 Jul 29 2011, 8:55 AM EDT by crittergetter

Remember kids that the key to SURVIVAL is the practicality of your choice of weapons. I'm blown away at why there would even be a section like this!!! if there is access to anti-personel/armour weaponry, which there ISNT, it wouldn't be viable to carry a Javelin or a Stinger on your back. Any idea how hard it's going to be to find ammunition for these weapons post z-day??
