In Defense: Your Village And You.

In Defense: Your Village And You.
Assume for the moment that you have built the ubra-perfect defenses:

Long-range observation has detected the approach of a skin job army totaling as high as one million- To you total combined 5,000 villagers (this includes children , infirmed, elderly, and others unable to try to fight or even assit the defenders).
  1. All is NOT lost. One, your first defense line, ordinary cattlefencing around your wheat/corn/etc field or orchards, may well deter the attack outright. Assuming the pure weight of the skin job army in and of itself penetrates this barrier;
    Try burning down the skin job horde; You’ll actually want to start not at the leading edge, nor the trailing edge, but towards the center. The burning skin jobs may set other skin jobs on fire in turn, expanding beyond this. USE OF FIRE AS A DEFENSIVE OPTION IS TO BE CONSIDERED AGAINST THE INHERENT DANGERS TO CROPS, ETC, AND MAY BE AN INAPPRORPRIATE OPTION.
  2. Hint: When using disabling fire, aim for the hips and legs; Even one broken leg can slow the skin jobs up to 75%.
    As the skin jobs close in, many will fall into the motte; Limited suppression fire against the hordes beyond the bailey can also be used either the thin them out, or force them to expand their attack area, allowing more to fall before the motte. However, eventually the sheer number of skin job bodies IN the motte will fill it completely, giving following skin jobs a literal skin job bridge to cross the bailey by. This is where defensive machinegun fire comes into play; Not killing fire, but CRIPPLING fire, causing them ideally to be stopped (for later dispatch), but at very least reducing their effectiveness.
  3. Hint: When dragging the skin jobs to the motte, dead or otherwise, where heavy-gauge gloves (preferably leather-covered rubber).
    When dispatching the skin jobs, be sure to remove ALL metal pipes and plastics of any sort; These are irreplaceable.
    As the skin jobs close in on your first fenceline, withdraw your defenders to the “castle,” securing all first-level doors. Withdraw your stairs from the first floor, and secure your first-floor elevator doors. This will force the skin jobs to climb up fairly vertical walls, where you can dispatch them quickly.
  4. Once the skin job horde has been stopped, you can drag the skin jobs (dead or otherwise) into the motte, dump them there, and douse them with flammable liquids and wood products and deal with the problem permanently.

Post-Battle Action:
QUICKLY clean all weaps that were actually used; it is not anti-plausible that a raider party could have followed the skin jobs and/or even arranged (by unknown means) the assault, with the intent of killing two birds with one stone; Thinning the skin jobs, and thinning YOUR numbers out, making later pillaging that much simpler. TACTICS TO DEAL WITH SKIN JOBS, AS A GENERAL RULE, WILL NOT BE EFFECTIVE, AGAINST RAIDERS. These tactics will be addressed later on.
