Question 1- So tell me, how long have you been involved with this site?

Marsden: Firstly, my name is Marsden and I was the first Administrator of the ZSDW. I began as a registered user back in August 2007 and worked my way up to moderator status later that year. At the beginning of 2008 I was appointed as the site's first ever administrator. Since then there has been elections and much reshuffling of the staff. We now boast a sizeable government of four active administrators, thirteen moderators and two wetpaint correspondents.

3DayAsylum: I first started out in late April of 2008. Like Marsden, and everybody else, I started as a Registered User, and worked my way up through the ranks. I made the Moderator position in the first election, which I believe took place around mid-June of 2008, or the following month. At about six or eight months here, I was promoted to Administrator while Marsden took a long vacation, and I've not been bumped back down yet.

Question 2- So in your own words, is this part of you daily online life? By that I mean how often you on and what role do you play on this site?

Yes, the ZSDW is most definitely part of my online life. I regularly check the site whenever I am online. I tend to go on for administration functions every day of the week, however direct interaction with the site members and page editing is quite uncommon for me.

The ZS&DW is very much so a part of my online life. The vast majority of the time I log onto the internet, I find myself at the site at least a few times. I generally check my inbox as soon as I get on, and post a few times on the discussion board, personally, I don't do too much page work.

Question 3- Since you joined how many people have you come consider a friend on here?

Since joining the ZSDW I have met many interesting people including decorated military figures, medical doctors, and all manner of skilled people. Through the forums and over time I have made several connections with people I am never going to forget.

In my time here at the ZS&DW, I've seen a large number of people come and go. A small amount of those people, I did consider online friends, and probably vice-versa, too. However, oddly enough, the total number of people that are actually my friends, and act accordingly, averages to about 30 at any given time.

Question 4- Do you personally believe that zombies will take over the world?

I believe that it is essential to prepare for the worst that life can throw at you. The ZSDW doesn't only inform you about zombies. You also learn effective methods of self-defence, wilderness and diasaster survival and also how to endure regular infections. Returning to the question, "Do I personally believe that zombies will take over the world?" No, I don't. As long as people are educated, properly prepared and have the will we could survive the worst that a virus can throw against us.

Not really, no. What I do believe is that zombies are quite possibly the worst thing that can happen, and if you can survive a zombie apocalypse, I would wager that you can survive just about every other thing that the world can throw at you. Examples: country-wide EMP, hurricanes, tornadoes, famine, and earthquakes. Because in a zombie world, you would have to know all of the skills required to survive in every other situation, as well.

Question 5- I can see you are a very active and important member on this site, of course no one works alone. Who or Whom have been your greatest asset on this site?

My greatest asset would be every single member who joins the site. Without them, the site would be nothing. They build upon the foundation of everything the ZSDW is.

My greatest asset? I would have to say every member that contributes in a sane, rational way.

Question 6- When it comes to having fun what would you say this site is more about? Is this site more for truly survival or just to let loose and have fun or a bit of both?

Although we do have serious debates regarding weaponry, planning and survival we also have a very strong element of humour. We are definitely a well balanced community on the whole.

I would say a bit of all three. Oddly enough, we have three Administrators who characterize each: DevilNuts, Marsden, and I. DevilNuts is the one who is serious, gets the job done, and is all about the topic at hand. I am the Grammar-Nazi who coordinates the Bar, our most fun-loving board, and Marsden is the one who is the pure mix of the two sides. Oh, I almost forgot about Quickrace, but I think he just wandered in from 4Chan...

Question 7- I see this site has a government election system? Tell me how many mods have you had thought the lifespan of this site and how are the members elected?

The electoral system is used in times of crisis. For example, back in 2008 the site was a mess. Another admin and a fresh moderation team was required. In an effort to correct this I called a general election to fill the newly created positions of Co-admin and seven new moderator slots.

Now, on the question of how many Moderators that have been promoted, I would take a guess of 35 to 40 in total, not including the ones before 2008.

Question 8- This is going to be posted on wikipedia.org is there anything you would like to say to the people reading the page?

Please visit the ZSDW if you are interested at all, good places for a casual entry into the community are the Bar or the New Member Welcome Wagon thread. Thank you.

I couldn't have said it any better. Good luck, and good night.
