In a survial group, yes there are many different duties that need to be completed, right down to latrine trench digger, thank you ElDiaboloKid, that's your job easy. Check the other thread if you don't get it. :-)
Seriously though, in a survival situation most families will tend to double or even triple up, not just to pool resources and raw manpower, but because there is simply so much that would need to be done, and done constantly. At minimum, you need at least two people on watch 24/7 to keep on alert for hostiles, and that's at a minimum. You probably are going to need at least 2 different guard checkpoints because most places have more than one avenue of approach. Then figure at least one individual for communications back at home base for the two separate sentries who would also have to be on call 24/7, a doctor or medic goes without saying, an armorer/weaponsmith, and a general quartermaster. So let's look at numbers here, maintaining 2 posts 24/7 with 2 people at each post, plus someone on comm back at the base also 24/7. We'll really go lean here, an ideal shift would be no longer than 8 hours but let's make it 12. So to keep everything guarded and in touch with home base for a single day, would take at least 10 people. This doesn't take into account the fact that during their 12 hours off would be spent sleeping, eating and whatnot, so forget them being able to do much else to help out around the retreat. So those 10 people would work a relentless shift with not even a day off, and should someone get sick or die, you're shorthanded, and even then we're talking a 12 hours on guard straight, that's LONG time to be freezing your a$ in the winter outside, and that's just to maintain only 2 sentry points.

I say we will need people who makes a scientific schedule of the lifespan of the zombies, what kills them and what not. How the neural system is kept intact. These people need to gather evidence from survivors, do experiments on specimen etc. They would examine the physical side of the zombie. They will determine if there are different kind of zombies and keep a close eye on differences to make sure any evolution of the enemy will not come as a surprise.
We also need some kind of zombie behaviorists, who will be experts on how zombies behave in different situations, what they react on, what triggers them and how to alter this behavior. These people can also analyze the behavior of the horde, how it´s created and what kind of pack mentality keeps therm together, if they got alpha leaders, how it spreads in a city etc. My goal with this is to contribute to a new type of job. So lets help out here! What more could these people do? Maybe the titles could be changed? (but spare me "mad scientists" etc.) What dangers are there?

Medics don't seem like they would have that much to do unless you fell and scraped your knee or broke a bone, if you get bit your gonna turn or one of the team members will have to kill you.

Okay, for those who think anyone can be a solider, think about this:
Only 3% of frontline soliders in world war 2 actually shot to kill. The rest purposefully missed the target. This means that in world war z, not everyone will be cut out to engage zees and kill them. If they won't kill or injure while shooting, they can't be a solider and they are just wasting the group's resources.

Some of these jobs could be collapsed into each other. For example, everyone will be a soldier to a degree, as well as a watchmen.
I'm proposing that we divide each of these jobs into separate sections Military Operations- Responsibilities would be training as well as base security. People in this field would be conducting missions that ranged from search and destroy missions to security. Military training is recommended. Logistics and Maintenance - Would ensure base is supplied and maintained. Duties would include armory, storehouses, vehicle and equipment maintenance, and keeping track of equipment. Engineering - Responsibilities would encompass construction and maintenance of structural defenses and other base structures. Would include demolitions. Medical Corps - Would be responsible for first aid treatment and training, as well as psychological counseling. Communications and Intelligence - Ensure steady stream of information to command staff as well as maintaining commo equipment Command Staff - Responsibilities would include centralized command of base operations. Hopefully that covers most of the basics.

I'll settle with dropping the entertainer idea as it will happen on its own..But, we need drivers...APC drivers, Truck drivers, whatever; we still need them...I'df like for it to be placed near the pilots section; I can't fly and I won't claim that I can either, but I can sure drive, and so can a lot of other ZSDW members....We need them dedicated though so when the time comes for extraction we're not left in the cold since they're all busy making Cocoa Wheats or drawing doodles on paper that resemble combat tactics...
