Is your plan dependent on zombies in your home town, or anywhere?
My plan includes my home and areas with which I'm familiar.

Will you be staying in your home or headed somewhere else?
Though it's a big risk, my wife and I will have to take to the road and try find shelter elsewhere. We're in a suburban-type neighborhood, and if everyone else is infected, we don't have the means to adequately defend ourselves and/or survive in our home. I've got family in rural West Virginia, so we'll probably try to make it there in the long run and take advantage of the less-dense population. As for short term, we'll try to rendezvous with her family (they've got firearms...we don't), but, again, there are over two million people living around here. There's bound to be mass chaos.

If you're heading out, how do you plan to get there?
I've got a Ford Focus. Great gas mileage, so as long as the tank is full, we ought to be able to make it.

Got anyone you want to take with you?
Just my wife.

How will you communicate with the outside world, or do you plan to go the hermit route?
I'll have at least a portable/hand-held radio for picking up any broadcasts or information. Having a CB radio would be ideal for communication, but I'd be a bit wary about giving away my location or intentions to any strangers.

How are you planning to get food and water?

I already store jugs of water here in my home in case pipes freeze up during winter or what have you (or, of course, in case of a zombie outbreak). I'll just pack those up as I'm leaving. As for food, I'll be packing the canned goods I have at the time of the emergency. There's also a grocery store and several gas stations just a stone's throw down the street, so I'll be hitting those up provided there isn't too much chaos.pandemonium.

What's your weapon of choice? Do you need to reload that thing? Gotta plan for that?
My wife has a strict "No Guns in the House" policy, so at the time of outbreak we'll be relying mainly on improvised weapons. We've a few nasty kitchen knives, but other than that we'll be concentrating mainly on evasion and escape until we can find something more substantial. I've got experience with firearms if/when we manage to find some, but my wife will be stuck using melee-based weapons.

Got a survival philosophy?
Trust no one.

Are you willing to hook up with other survivors?
Only if it's absolutely essential for survival. The more people you have, the greater your risks. Not only is there a trust issue, but supplies will be drained much more quickly and need to be replaced that much more often (which, again, puts everyone at risk when you have to spend more and more time out in the open trying to replenish your dwindling stocks).

Is your plan based on a book/movie/blog/scientist we may have heard of?
Don't think so. Don't hold me to that, though.
