Your Name: Justin Mcleod
Your "handle" should we look for you on the radio waves or web: Highlander
Your location: Classified (I don't want to give too much away)

Tell us:

Is your plan dependent on zombies in your home town, or anywhere?
It is dependant, mainly on a zack-attack on the UK as a whole....but things will become more organised and serious the closer the zombies get to my location.

Will you be staying in your home or headed somewhere else?
I will be using my own home, a local community centre that I have access to (I am a key-holder) and 2 friends' houses opposite the community centre. There is also a classified area within woodland that is incredibly well-hidden and fortified against human and zombie attacks. This will be our main fall-back point.

If you're heading out, how do you plan to get there?
Walking across fields behind my house....they lead into the woods and then into the back garden of friends houses. We also have a few cars and vans to use if the roads are clear.

Got anyone you want to take with you?
I would be working together with my family and my 2 friends families. A total of 19 people. We have a wide range of skills between us: computer engineer, carpenter, gardener, psychologist, Medically trained people...
We will live at seperateseparate addresses for the main time, until fall-back is required. We have a LAN set-up between 2 of the houses so far, that is not dependant on outside sources.

How will you communicate with the outside world, or do you plan to go the hermit route?
We have not discussed this so far, but I am in favour of the Hermit Route. I don't trust other people to look after me and I wouldn't want anything getting in my way or slowing me down. Also, food and water is planned out so that survival for 25 people for 6 months, but more people will only make that last for a short time. As for communication with the outside world, we have the internetInternet for as long as that lasts, we have radios and we have boxes of electronic parts that we could make broadcasting equipment from....I doubt we'd choose to though.

How are you planning to get food and water?
We have stores of tinned goods and dried fruits etc in each of our locations. enough to last us all 6 months. we also have a gardener who could keep a sustainable food source going for as long as we needed. The fall-back base within the woods is surrounded by food: Silver Birch gives us sap, Crab-Apple trees give us the blossom and the fruit, Rabbits and other small game are always running around.
Water is slightly more difficult. We have a spring about 1/4 mile from the woodland base. we have bottled water in my shed (about 20 gallons) and we would fill bathtubs...but after that, we'd need to catch rain water or sterilise the water from my pond. Perhaps digging a well could work...?

What's your weapon of choice? Do you need to reload that thing? Gotta plan for that?
Between us all, we have a few weapons including machetes, swords, every tool you could imagine (we have carpenters and gardeners aswellas well as DIY enthusiasts) home-made fun stuff like Spud Cannons (we'd launch kerosine-filledkerosene-filled tennis balls from this) Sling-shots and a large collection of knives...also a few guns:
We Have only got Air-Rifles/pistols but they have never let us down before, we've killed rabbits, squirrels, pigeons and all sorts of other small game with them and we know what we're doing!
Air Rifles: 6
Air Pistols: 2
Compound Bow: 1
Pistol Crossbow: 1
Paintball Marker: 2
We have plenty gas and ammunition for all of these items and I am confident that we could take down a zom pretty quickly and quietly.

Got a survival philosophy?
I think that you always have to believe in yourself, that's the most important thing. I also feel sorry for anyone who has to go through an ordeal like this alone; they WILL need a friend at some point. Friends are important to you, because they know when something is wrong, they will become that extra part of you so that when you stop working for any reason, they step in! Stay focused and keep yourself entertained....

Are you willing to hook up with other survivors?
NO! I will avoid this situation as much as I avoid Zack! Although I can't vouch for my conscience...I may give in to humanity and put myself and others in danger to rescue a person in need....but I will fight this urge to the bitter end! If YOU haven't planned for this and YOU get in trouble, why should I have to risk my near-perfect plan to save your useless ass?

Is your plan based on a book/movie/blog/scientist we may have heard of?
It is all my own work. I HAVE read WWZ and ZSG by Max Brooks, I have read the SAS survival guide and I DO constantly read about other people opinions...but all you need to do is read through this all and you'd realise that I know that access to firearms in the UK is tight, so air rifle s are my best bet. I know that my familiar surroundings, however unsafe they may seem to anyone else, are infinitely safer to me than any fully-stocked military compound. I fly in the face of some of Mr Brooks' recommendations and do things my own way, but I DO agree with a lot of the things he has to say.
