Your location: B.C., Canada
Almost anywhere. I probably wouldn't put it into effect until they were in Either Canada or the USA. I'd get things ready once they were spotted anywhere but I'd need to wait just to be sure.
Will you be staying in your home or headed somewhere else?
I would head out. Although I don't live in a densly populated area, I would imagine people would flock to where I am to escape the high-risk zones, like major cities. I'd head North, possible stopping in the Northmest parts of BC but more likely heading straight into the Yukon.
If you're heading out, how do you plan to get there?
I'd watch the news regularily, both on TV, in the paper and online to make sure I could get a head start on others that would be fleeing their homes as well. I'd stop by the local grocery store to stock up on canned foods and water, then travel in my own vehicle, a reliable pick-up. I would stay off of major freeways and just travel using backroads through the Sticks.
Got anyone you want to take with you?
My family. My mom and sister from home and once we reached Northern B.C., my grandparents that live up North as well. I'd let my pets go though. There'd be no way we could take two large dogs and four cats in one vehicle.
How will you communicate with the outside world, or do you plan to go the hermit route?
We have your standard two-way radios, as well as a wind-up AM/FM radio to listen to what's going on in the outside world.
How are you planning to get food and water?
We'd take as much as we could get from the store, then once we reached our destination, use a local freshwater source and hunt or gather to obtain the rest.
What's your weapon of choice? Do you need to reload that thing? Gotta plan for that?
For hunting and possible defense we have a high powered, telescope sighted rifle with plenty of ammunition. But I'd want to save that for emergencies. I'd probably use a spade or crowbar, both having multiple uses besides Zed disposal.
Got a survival philosophy?
Common sense would be a big part of it. Also simply staying away from large groups of people, like cities, even towns and definatly people migrating away from the danger.
Are you willing to hook up with other survivors?
Yes, of course. Although we couldn't take care of more people, but simply work with them to help each other survive.
Is your plan based on a book/movie/blog/scientist we may have heard of?
Lots of books, movies, TV shows. I watch Survivorman alot and read tons of outdoors survival books on how to hunt, fish, and find eatable plants. Also standards such as the Zombie Survival Guide and lots of zombie movies, lol.
