Is your plan dependent on zombies in your home town, or anywhere?
(start typing here...)
Realistically, Zombies would invade up from the city (possibly down from Montreal, or over from Buffalo, but I don't see them easily passing the mountains or the river). By and large, the area my family lives in is fairly safe. However, if I'm down in college at the time, I would take an axe, a baseball bat, and a pistol (seriously- the first time I hear a hint of zombies in the news- I'm exercising my second amendment rights), climb and my car, and head up north. If the roads are bad, I'd use a backway, making sure to be carefully guarded if the need arises to use a RURAL gas station (keeping close to my BARICADED vehicle at all times). Then, I'd make it up to my parents house.

Will you be staying in your home or headed somewhere else?
Before I got to my parents house, I'd phone ahead, making sure they kept safe (my dad exercised his second amendement rights a long time ago) and previous to the attack I'd make sure they had supplies (we also have well water). They live in a very rural area, in a two-story house, so they should be fine. Upon arrival, we would use the internet to track the zombie invasion. Assuming that most new zombies are runners (that the human --> zombie incubation time was relatively low), they might stand a chance of making it into the village. In that case, we'd quickly pack food and water supplies, along with our boat, and head off to Maine.

If you're heading out, how do you plan to get there?
We plan to use the interstate system, and find rural gas stations if the need arises. Now that my family is there, I have a backup for pumping gas (he would shoot the zombies coming at me, and I would carry my pistol and an axe). Once we arrived in upper maine, we would again use an AM/FM and a shortwave radio (perhaps a cellular phone and an internet connection, should they be available) to track the invasion, and if it still appears to be severe, we would launch our boat out to an off shore island.

Got anyone you want to take with you?
My family (my dad and I both have military experience, and my sister and mother are both crafty), my dog and my cat. I'd bring my friends along (provided they were still humans), if they wanted to. No more then fifteen people, though. Even ten is streching it.

How will you communicate with the outside world, or do you plan to go the hermit route?
CB radios, AM/FM, shortwave, cell phones, wifi connections if available. If the infestation dies down, I'd try to hook up with another group of survivors to liberate the area.

How are you planning to get food and water?
Stock piling. There's also a well on my parents property, and I'd buy water purification tablets if the island escape route was necessary.

What's your weapon of choice? Do you need to reload that thing? Gotta plan for that?
Stock piling ammo for weapons, and supply 2 firearms per family member. If possible, get ahold of a semi-automatic (I have experience from the army). Also have two axes and a baseball bat.

Got a survival philosophy?
Run, and do what it takes to survive.

Are you willing to hook up with other survivors?
Yes, provided they aren't going to kill us.

Is your plan based on a book/movie/blog/scientist we may have heard pf?
No.
