I finally got around to posting my plan.
I would appreciate any holes that can be found and suggestions that can be made. I have kids that I want to survive to adulthood, and I don't want to have anything overlooked that can be corrected...or at least that I can be aware of. Have at it...

You have an excellent idea of what you can do and how to do it. This is a very good plan. The only major holes I see in your plan is the lack of maps, which you recognize and say are going to rectify. I am pleased there are others that think ahead about their famiies survival. Good work.

I love that you have your plans for your children! Most members on the site are childless men, and they don't recognize the needs that many civilians will have (i.e., the caring of young ones when the Panic strikes).
There are a few holes in the plan, mainly with the BOBs. It would be more wise to simply pack cloth diapers outright- don't waste valuable space on something that you eventually give up on. Also, I would advise putting food in your children’s' BOBs. If they become separated from you, they might not know where to find food (and it would be risky for them to go looking for it). I also love how the site has brought you another BOL in the form of one of the site's members- networking at its finest! (also, I am totally a member of Team Machete. I love that you've thought of such a reasonable and valuable weapon. Have you ever read the Zombie Survival Guide? I'm sure it has been suggested to you, and whoever has suggested it is right. You would love it)
