H&K MP7Model: Heckler & Koch MP7
Introduced as a direct competitor to the FN P90 in 2001, the MP7 is a personal defense weapon (PDW): a small submachine gun firing powerful rounds especially meant to defeat body armor. The MP7 fires a proprietary 4.6mm round, and debates continue over whether it or FN's 5.7mm round is more effective. As a PDW, the MP7 is light and very handy in close quarters.

The MP7's current designation is the MP7A1; it has a smaller 3-position stock with a different buttpad, a curved pistol grip with a different texture, more compact folding iron sights, and top and side-mounted Picatinny rails as standard. The MP7A1 also includes a trigger safety similar to a Glock, helping prevent accidental discharge from bumping the trigger.

Where to find

Unfortunately, this gun is not particularly easy to find and the price tag of over $1000 for the very rare semi-automatic weapons mixed with the expensive, rare ammo makes it quite costly to own. Even worse, the automatic version is not legal for civilian ownership in the United States! The best chance of finding it post-apocalypse ironically belongs to the British survivors, as the Ministry of Defense Police has adopted it as their main weapon.

Complexity

The MP7 has so far been reviewed as a very comfortable weapon: very light and almost no recoil, allowing for excellent accuracy. Heckler & Koch is known for making quality weapons, and they are no slouch in this department.
