Your location: Walton, NY (For when the zombies come)
It all depends. I live in a smaller town near NYC, a rough45 minutes via the MTA. If the zombie situation gets out of hand, I'm running for the local supermarket, and barricading myself in there. If I can, I would leave the vicinity, to go Upstate. If it doesn't get too out of hand, me and a few friends will strip down the local food sources, and hardware stores, and flee the area.
Will you be staying in your home or headed somewhere else?
I live on the third floor of an old apartment wood and plaster apartment building. The third floor is the top floor. Living on Main St, I am right across from the supermarket, bank, and a large apartment building, right down the street. If a virus breaks out, I will be leaving with friends. If I cant, I will most likely be stealing from the food stores, and barricading myself on the top floor of the large apartment building on the crossroad. Each apartment is small, but the doors are well locked, and can easily be blocked off. There is a basement to the building, an underground storage complex, which I've never ventured in, and is settled right above a Stationary Store, Art store, and a Diner. If I could escape, I would either rush Upstate NY, or to a smaller town in Connecticut, where my closest friends live, where we could barricade ourselves in a medium size house, for a while.
If you're heading out, how do you plan to get there?
Vehicle convoy. My closest friends, the people I will be bringing with me own SUVs and minivans. I myself own a high powered Subaru WRX Hatchback, with lots of storage room. My friends own a rather large SUV, an old Ford Winstar, with the back seats stripped out for storage, a Honda Odyssey, and a smaller Toyota Highlander. The SUVs will be used for person transport, and storae, and the old Ford will soley be a goods transport vehicle, and the Odyssey will be for people transport.
Got anyone you want to take with you?
Yes. A large group of 10-15 of the people I trust the most, and our pets (Dogs and cats). Once arriving, and settling in for good, diffrent positions will be assigned to maintain order. Mistake not that I will blow your brains out if you are a random maurader with zombies on your tail. I, even you may not know if you've been bitten, and theres no way in hell im taking that risk. Depending on your situation, you may be let in.
How will you communicate with the outside world, or do you plan to go the hermit route?
Upon arrival to Upstate, we will try to sieze all possible broadcast, including walkie talkies, and possibly, broadcast on all AM radio frequencies.
Should govt. arrive, we will not accept entrance into a camp, as we intend to remain holding a secure position on the outside.
How are you planning to get food and water?
Since normally, in Upstate, NY, there is well water (just a pipe running into the ground), huge pipe systems wont be a problem, but in case of a drought, shops will be looted for extra water and food. The food will most likley be Canned, dried, or dehydrated, so alot of effort isnt needed in the cooking. All should be taken, and shoved in a safe, dry basement, to last for at least a few winters. Dont be picky. I mean, c'mon, zombies arent picky about your brains, so why should you be picky about that cream of mushroom soup, eh?
What's your weapon of choice? Do you need to reload that thing? Gotta plan for that?
A crap load of weapons. Blades, Guns, and even hommade explosives. But my weapons of choice would probably be a M29 with 5.6 SPEC bullets, and a standart Colt .45 semiauto handgun. A large machete will do good, in close combat situations, and simple low blast landmines can help against an advance. But hold all weapons, as you will be surrounded with an unlimited amount of problems
Got a survival philosophy?
Show no mercy- They wont, why should you? Dont hesitate to blow out a friends or family members brains, unless you could possibly neutralize the virus. Dont be choosy- Take anything, and everything you can. It'll help you live. If you've stripped all of Wal Mart for Guns, food, and clothing, and left behind other food you didnt want, take it. You need it to live. Help those who need it- A bad group of bikers can most likely deal for themselves. They may just want your mountian of supplies. Small families, may need help, but lone mauraders will most likely not be accepted. And most importantly- DONT GIVE IN WITHOUT A FIGHT
Are you willing to hook up with other survivors?
It depends. Bikers can deal for themselves, and will probably just want to steal from you. Small families may need help, and lone mauraders are most likely being trailed. Once in, assess the people. Check for bite marks, and signs of infection. Execute all infected, it doesnt matter who. Then, assign them jobs to help grow the fort.
Is your plan based on a book/movie/blog/scientist we may have heard of?
I've read alot, and got some ideas from other people. Movies and games, also. I got almost every source possible,
