Dance of the Dead is a 2008 American independent zombie comedy, directed by Gregg
Bishop and written by Joe Ballarini. The film featured Jared Kusnitz, Greyson Chadwick, Chandler Darby, and Carissa Capobianco. The plot revolves around the mysterious reanimation of the dead and the efforts of Jimmy, Lindsey, Stephen, Gwen and Kyle to save their local high school prom from attack. Deadgirl is a 2008 horror movie, directed by Marcel Sarmiento and Gadi Harel and written by Trent Haaga. Rated R for strong aberrant sexuality, graphic nudity, bloody violence and pervasive language. Dead & Buried is a 1981 horror film movie directed by Gary Sherman, starring Melody Anderson, and James Farentino as Sheriff Dan Gillis. Without warning, his peaceful tiny New England town of Potter’s Bluff starts having murders. Strangers to the town are turning up dead. Naturally, Dan has to find out why. Resident Evil is a 2002 science fiction horror film based on the same titled series of survival horror games developed by Capcom. Borrowing elements from the video games Resident Evil and Resident Evil 2, the film follows an amnesiac heroine Alice, and a band of Umbrella Corporation commandos, as they attempt to escape a secret underground facility that at one time was filled with people but is now overrun with zombies. Re-Animator is a 1985 science fiction horror film based on the H. P. Lovecraft story “Herbert West: Reanimator.” Directed by Stuart Gordon, it was the first film in the Re- Animator series. The movie has become a cult film, driven by fans of Jeffrey Combs (who stars as Herbert West), extreme gore, and the successful combination of horror and comedy. It currently has a score of 92% on critic site Rotten Tomatoes. (Cont'd)

This was the only thing that really bothered me about the movie when I saw it in the late 70s. They had a theatrical armorer or prop master on the set with a real full auto Thompson which was rigged for blanks so why they used an AP-74 .22 M-16 replica made in Italy instead of an AR-15 really makes no sence (unless to save money or it was the only M-16 like rifles the prop guy had and didn't want to buy or rent anything). In the late 1970s the AR-15 retailed for about $400 (that's what mine cost when I got one in 1978) and the AP-74 was about $150 or less. It really looked bad because .22 semi-autos are extremely hard to make function semi -auto correctly with blanks - it looks like they just stuck a standard .22 starter blank in the AP-74 and shot it. Was anyone else bothered by this?

I thought that this was a great horror movie with the dead coming back to life (not because of a virus but becasue of satanism/witchcraft). If you have seen it, what did you think of the movie? I saw it in the mid-1970s. Not bad for a B - flick.
