City: My hometown (nothing specific)
Neighborhood: a residential sector that borders a warehouse district
Building or Defensible Location:
If SHTF tomorrow morning, where would I be able to go? My primary business in this situation is to Contact as many of those that I know in the area. In this ploy, I hope to alert everyone of what is happening, if they don't already know. In addition, I will be giving instructions such as 1) barricading all windows and locking all doors, 2) to fill as many containers full of water as possible, 3) to search for weapons inside of the household, and 4) spread the word to other people whom they know. This I would do while simulataneously barricading, filling up containers, and taking stock of weapons.

Next, I shall describe my current house:

• One story house-ranch style
• 2 external doors, one main door, second is a steel door on a bad frame that leads into the garage
• 1 interior door that leads from the kitchen to the garage.
• 3 bedrooms
• the living room and two of the bedrooms have large windows
• the third bedroom has two normal windows
• bathroom has one very small window
• kitchen has two normal windows
• the garage has two external windows that are old

Most of the windows in my house are actually blocked, with exception to the kitchen, the living room, and the middle room that has a big window (mine)

In my house is alot of exercise equipment, aka lots of steel. i can block an entry point and no human sized figure can get through. This is also saying that I can pile alot of this metal against a window if the glass fails.

Anyway, that is a semi-detailed description of my residence, the most likely place I will be (for now anyway)


In addition, I could get on the roof if there was a breach, and I could dang well get to the roof, but could my mother or anyone else with me, like my neighbors for instance? I don't know. But, I mentioned Warehouse District earlier. This is a prime place to obtain materials for what I will state later.
Attributes:
There are some isolated areas around here, and high rooftops will grant me and anyone else safe haven for class 1 or class 2 outbreaks. I have made custom weapons that can reach down from a roof and say, decapitate a shambler, but its only use is theoretical. my home is also entirely cinderblock.. in other words, can stop most common calibers.

Of course, my household is a perfect example of what 'normal people' would face.

Pros:
-near industrial area
-rooftops
-farm fields(fruits) nearby
-local PD is accessible
-southern rednecks are always armed


Cons:
-though not a big city, i live in a town of less than 15,000
-close proximity to schools
-military flybys occur fairly frequent, though the closest base is 50 or so miles away(i see blackhawks, pavelows, chinooks, hell even see some strike eagles...)


In the case of an outbreak, will you be allowing other survivors to join you here?
-id be in no shape to do so. I can take in 3 FRIENDS, and that'd be only on the premise that they are close, both in proximity and personally.

my plan isn't assault proof. If I got attacked by a major horde I'm saying bye to everyone and not making peace with an ancient alien(religion reference, haha). Once I reach the age of gun ownership, I am, without a doubt, rocking my favorite weapons. These include mostly soviet era weapons.
Now, once that day comes, my plan will drastically change. However, I do not believe in bugging out unless the homestead becomes compromised beyond survivability. i will, in any situation, try to rally the local population to band together as a miitia of sorts.
