"Since before recorded time, it had swung through the universe in an elliptical orbit so large that its very existence remained a secret of time and space. But now, in the last few years of the twentieth-century, the visitor was returning. The citizens of Earth would get an extra Christmas present this year, as their planet orbited through the tail of the comet. Scientists predicted a light show of stellar proportions. Something not seen on Earth for 65 million years. Indeed, not since the time that the dinosaurs disappeared, virtually overnight."





Two high school girls wake up one morning in Los Angeles and find that almost everyone has turned to dust by a Comet that passed by Earth. The only survivors are those that were completely surrounded by steel when the comet passed by. The girls, Regina (Catherine Mary Stewart) and her younger sisterSamanthasister Samantha (Kelli Maroney) are soon joined by athe very Erik Estrada lookingHector,looking Hector, (Robert Beltran who went on to play Chakotay on Star Trek Voyager). Together they make their way though the empty streets of LA, encountering various flesh-eating zombies. Eventually they land at a local radio station where SamantahSamantha announces that she is "One third owner of the greater Los Angeles Basin". The transmission brings them to the attention of a group of scientists who mistakenly left the vents open in their underground steel laboratory (apparently being super smart still makes you stupid) who are working on a serum by killing the natural survivorssurvivors.
