Is your plan dependent on zombies in your home town, or anywhere? This plan is my for my parents home but the basics can be used for most places I go. Need to make a working one for my house.
Will you be staying in your home or headed somewhere else? Ill be aiming to stay in the house as it situated on a mountain which over looks the town, plus the back of the house is just fields which go for miles (and I mean miles) which will help for defence reasons because there’s good lines of site and open area making for excellent killing ground. The street the house is on is only two lane road and the top windows cover both directions of the road. This will come in handy because there’s a lot of cars I could use to create barricades to slow any of the dead coming towards the house. The houses across the street and next door will be cleared and locked down, all the houses have double glazing and multiply lock doors making it easy to do. I WILL NEVER GO THE MAX BROOKS WAY by moving upstairs and destroying them, it dangerous and leaves you with not many ways of escape, if the dead were to get in to the house I would move upstairs but first I would remove several doors from around the house and have them stored on or close to the landing. So if the dead were making their way up the stairs I could use the doors to drop on top of the zombies pushing them back down or if there’s a lot of them I could stand on the door crushing them together, then when heads are exposed start whacking. Try to kill them that way but if there is too many ill move, back up the stairs and take them on one by one. This will also help by blocking the stairs with bodies. My parents house makes an ideal place for another reason is because of my dads garage, it’s a workshop. There’s a industrial standing drill, small fire place for metal work, a plasma cutter, welder and plus a small anvil. So able to get tooled up with some homemade weaponry pretty easily.
If you're heading out, how do you plan to get there? ill leave the house to collect weaponry when the infection first starts, hopefully during the chaos ill be able to move easier with less hassle because ill know what the fuck I’m doing where as most people will be panicking. Ill move by foot because the streets will be a bit to crazy for a car. There’s an air cadet hut in the town which holds two .22 rifles, they’re bolt action single load converted from old training rifles I think, they called the number eight rife so I don’t know. They’re not very powerful but are accurate up to about twenty five yards well that was the standard practise we use to have to shoot. Five rounds in the area of a two pence piece I think. Powerful enough at that range to put a hole in a skull. So ill have to go to the C.O’s house to get the keys for the locker and floor safe where the rounds are kept. Once I’ve got the rifles ill move back to the house and wait till dark. When its dark ill take a small fast car and drive to the supermarket, I wont want to take a larger car because this trip will be more of a recon mission as well as a supply mission. Ill take jerry cans for fuel, and little else because I may need to dump the car fast and make an escape on foot. Wont need much supplies to begin with as my parents house is stocked normally with enough food for about three weeks of normal good eating, but with rationing could make it last as long as two months. So ill mostly stock up on canned goods for a longer haul.
Got anyone you want to take with you? my family. My friends know to lock down their houses and wait for me to come for them or if they want to risk it come to me. How will you communicate with the outside world, or do you plan to go the hermit route? the house has a good CB aerial so gets pretty good reception across the valley but I wouldn’t put much faith in any one calling for a chat.
How are you planning to get food and water? there’s a supermarket about a five minute drive or twenty minute walk. Plus there are a few small shops close by.
What's your weapon of choice? Do you need to reload that thing? Gotta plan for that? I have a strong hand crossbow, plus two bows with a shit load of arrows but I doubt ill any good with them. A crowbar will be one weapon because its handy for smacking heads plus a bit of breaking and entering. Hopefully I get some ammo with the .22 rifles, I’m a lot better with them but ill only use them if necessary, try and save some ammo plus they make a lot of noise.

Are you willing to hook up with other survivors? yes but not large groups that can out number my group. Keep a close eye on them till they can be trusted or they’re ideas are worked out.
