When LJ told me he was sending me out an IWB holster to review, I have to admit I wasn't all that excited as I've never really been a big fan of IWB holsters.
IWB rigs are really the way to go when it comes to concealment, but I've always found them uncomfortable and they never seem to "cant" in the right angle for me.
Old Faithful Holsters, from Fort Smith, Arkansas, sent me a holster to fit an Officer sized 1911 (my 9mm Kimber Aegis II).
When I got the holster, I realized that it would fit ALL models of the 1911 series handguns, from the Officer's frame to the full-sized Government models. That was a HUGE bonus for me, as I'll switch from the light weight 9mm Kimber, to my full sized Colt 1991A1 depending on what I

am doing on any given day. Concealing the larger frame Colt can sometimes be a
trick, but the Old Faithful Holster I got did it well without any modifications to the holster from one to the other. A nice perk if you're a "tool changer" type of person like me.
FIRST IMPRESSIONSMy first impressions of the holster were that it was pretty simple, light weight and well made.
Back and front of the holster are smooth and retention is excellent and the tension is fully adjustable.
That's number one in my book for a holster as one of the issues I've had with IWB's is their retention of the gun without a retaining strap - aka "open top" holsters.

Another issue is making sure they completely cover the trigger of the gun so it doesn't get snagged by anything.
