On this site, people have discussed hostile groups of survivors. I'd just like to expand on this, because after the zombies are gone, society won't return instantly, and it's likely that bands of mercenaries and 'bandits' will try to make their living raiding other camps, with customised vehicles and looted guns. If we have a level four outbreak (whole world), then I think the second option is the most likely. Sounds like a good computer game, but it means that advanced tanks and planes that the US Air Force and Army use now, will be required, and no doubt used to raid, long after the zombie threat is over.



sooooo, how do you think these bandits will be powering these vehiclesthat long after all of the gas had been raided. I think we are looking at guerrilla wars reminiscent of even the french and indian war. The only groups that would have advanced armored vehicles would be the reemerging government officials who had been hiding in massive underground bunkers for the last 20 years. Many such bunkers were built after the cold war and are entirely self sustaining. If the government in hiding had enough equipment stockpiled before hand (which I do believe they would) the raiding parties who had been scavenging for all their equipment would have a very little chance against a reemerged military. After the Z war societies would form around these self sustaining bunkers. While a rogue faction is possible there will be few, if any vehicles at all outside of these forces. Actually, I would gamble that there would even be and bullets left for ballistic weapons after the z war. Prepare for a brutal and ethicless war of sticks and stones after the war until these government factions return.

Richboy33lb-The world will undoubtebly face its worst combat in history, with nukes flying left and right and blood being spilt upon it. However, once all the zombies are gone, or all the people, or both, the world will encounter peace not know since the time between the last dinosaurs and the fiirst humans. All animals not put into extinction by the undead or hunting will adapt to the enviorment. While some species of animals may go extinct, many others will start to flourish.
