Well, you're right, there are bunkers in case of a nuclear war or violent disease epidemic, the US government is prepared for almost anything. They realize that, however unlikely, paranormal attacks and dangers could happen, and if they do, they're prepared for it. However, the Air Force and Army keep a lot of vehicles accessible, and when half the soldiers are dead it'll be easy to knock off a Humvee or two. And, there's plenty of gas in the US, and I bet that some smugglers will begin bringing in gas from the Middle East and selling it at steep prices, or using it for their own purposes. And a lot of special fuel for jets and such are kept on bases.

Again, my theory of real skin jobs, ‘normal’ Humans with a brain-destroying disease (total brain damage) does not preclude the ability, even genetic imperative, to breed. So 20 years, or 200 years, it’s not simply going to be over one day. As to this preternatural fear of raiders, consider this- The same ‘wastes’ you and I can’t use will be covered with the same skin jobs (and other raiders) that will fight the raiders themselves, eventually thinning their ranks to an unsustainable level, causing them to either implode, or surrender under pretext of being fellow survivors to another camp. |

There will be alot of waste lands all over the World. They will be formed from Nuclear power plants loosing containment, chemical manufacturing and storage leakage, along with a long list of other man made apocalypse death traps.
