Yes and no. At the beginning of the outbreak, my primary concern will be the zombies around my home. Or I'll go on post to the compound that my husband works on. It's completely fenced in and on an Army base, there will be plenty of weapons and people that know how to use them. If it gets to the point that I need to go on the run, I'll need to think about the undead on the way to the East Coast to get my mom and friends. Then the zombies on the way to the Canadian Arctic will be my concern.
Will you be staying in your home or headed somewhere else?
At first I'll be defending my home, but then going on the run when need be. I plan on going to the Alaska area for the cold weather, the lack of people, and the capibilities of living off the land.
If you're heading out, how do you plan to get there?
For as long as it's safe, in a four wheel drive, quad cab, pick up truck with a cap. The quad cap will be good for holding more party members and my dog, while the cap will prevent any undead falling into the bed and threatening the group. It will also hold more supplies and help prevent them from being stolen.
Got anyone you want to take with you?
My husband who is active duty Army, my mom, my best friends, and my dog, The Moose.
How will you communicate with the outside world, or do you plan to go the hermit route?
This is a problem at the moment. We have two way radios at the moment, but I'm thinking we need a CB or something to that effect.
How are you planning to get food and water?
At first, I'll use the food and supplies in my house. When I go on the run, I'll raid stores for what we need. At the final destination, we'll raid towns, hunt, fish, and do whatever else.
What's your weapon of choice? Do you need to reload that thing? Gotta plan for that?
A pair of .45 pistols, a pump shotgun, and a high powered rifle. Most likely an M4. For melee, a machete, crowbar, and many knifes. Yeah, obviously. We have plenty of ammo for the guns and I'm not worried about them breaking. My husband does small arms repair in the Army.
Got a survival philosophy?
Just wait it out. Live off the land. I know that the government will be of no help in the event of the zombie-pocolypse.
Are you willing to hook up with other survivors?
Sure, if they aren't a threat to the overall group. I'm more than willing to part ways with someone if they're threatening the overall group.
Is your plan based on a book/movie/blog/scientist we may have heard of?
Everything that I read and see helps me plan my survival.
