The firearms listed within this article are high quality, low priced firearms that are going to be excellent additions to anyone's arsenal. I've done a lot of thinking about this and since I've been out of work, money has been tighter than ever before - these budget firearms can save you a lot of money and perform admirably. The majority of them are surplus from military and police armories and are excellent "Bang for the Buck" weapons.Polish P-64 (9x18 Makarov)9x18 Makarov6-round magazine Double Action Blued Steel Frame Loaded Chamber Indicator Decocking SafetyThe P-64 clearly shows its heritage with the obvious similarities with the Walther PPK. The primary difference between the two firearms is the caliber options - the PPK being chambered in 9x17 (.380 ACP) and the P-64 in 9x18 Makarov, a slightly higher power cartridge. This little handgun is a little firebreather, with sharp recoil due to small grips. It has been described as "painful", "surprisingly painful" and "wow I didn't expect that." This recoil doesn't negatively affect the handgun's accuracy and it is still remarkably accurate for it's size. The magazine is a single-stack 6 round magazine, which though on the low-capacity side of the scale it still holds as many rounds as a revolver and is much slimmer and smaller than even a snub-nosed .38 or .357 Magnum. This handgun is available at Centerfire Systems online for $149.99. Shipping will cost about $30 as it must be shipped Next-Day and an FFL transfer can cost between $20 - $50, though is typically $25. Prices subject to change.Saiga Rifle (7.62x39 Soviet, 5.56 NATO, .308 Winchester) Manufactured in Russia16” chrome-lined barrel Semi-auto AK-style rifle Various calibers to suit the needs of any situation 3-scale sight leaf sights Black synthetic stockThe Saiga rifle is Russia's first attempt at creating a rifle solely for the American market. Taking an AK-101 receiver and modifying it so that a pistol grip cannot easily be installed, making it accept a low-capacity proprietary Saiga brand magazine and fitting it with slightly different buttstock and muzzle break has made it conform to US firearms importation laws by acheiving the minimum score required. There are high capacity magazines available for the Saiga but they do not work with other AK variants and are rather pricey. The advantage of the Saiga is that its extremely inexpensive and can be found for several hundred dollars under the price of other Kalishnikov variations. This rifle is available for $400 at Centerfire Systems and comes with a sling, manual, cleaning supplies and other accessories. Price changes imminent.NOT LEGAL IN CALIFORNIAMossberg 500 & Maverick 88 shotguns12 gauge, 20 gauge, .410 and .50 caliber muzzleloaderMultiple barrel lengths, from 16 to 24 inches3 to 8 shot tube magazine capacity, with extensions available (depending on model)Synthetic or wood stocks availableMossberg shotguns are made with pride in the USAThe Mossberg 500 and 590 shotguns are quite possibly the best value on high quality shotguns available to civilian, military and law enforcement in need of a scattergun. Easy to maintain, reliable and inexpensive, with extremely versatile firepower make the Mossberg and Maverick shotguns a force to be reckoned with. The difference between a Mossberg 500 and the Maverick 88 shotguns are two fold - they share identical components, except for their trigger mechanisms and safeties. The safety on the Mossberg 500 is on the top tang of the receiver, while the Maverick's is on the trigger group. Because of this, their trigger groups are not interchangable. The Maverick shotguns are assembled in the USA, but their parts are manufactured on Mossberg equipment in Mexico - as such, they tend to cost less than their fully American-made sister shotgun. I have seen new Mossbergs run from anywhere between $275 USD and $350, depending upon model type and accessories.MORE ADDITIONS COMING SOON!LJ26's Weapons and Practical Skills Corner by (LJ126) is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution 3.0 United States License.Based on a work at www.zombiesurvivalwiki.com.
