PedroAsani's Survival PlanThis is a featured page

Contents

This is a work in progress. Anything you think I have missed, please say so.

This is a long range plan. Much of the work on here will take around a decade to finance, set up and accomplish. I don't want to hear any whining that it is unrealistic due to cost. Lack of funds can put paid to any plan. Funding will be a combination of my work and venture capitalism. The goals are two-fold. The first are to be prepared for WTSHTF. The second is to have a property that will still be of value and of use if nothing untoward happens. This plan started with Max Brooks, and has evolved into a general survivalist scenario, albeit one chiefly designed to cope with an undead plague. A lot of the ideas have come from Emergency by Neil Strauss.

This is designed for a Class 4 outbreak, global outbreak lasting for 50 years or more. Class 1, 2 and 3 outbreaks are covered by Parts 1-3.

Contingency plans

These are here to show what I would do should disaster strike tomorrow. As each stage of the plan is completed, the contingency will be removed. These are updated along with the rest of the plan.

Part 1: Current supplies allow me to Bug In for about 4 weeks, which is longer than the accepted time-to-rescue of 72 hours.

Part 2: Driving is the last resort, but I would have enough supplies, cash, etc to get on a boat or plane headed for the Caribbean. If I have to spend any time in the wilderness, I can survive with my BOB rations and make a Fire Bed.

Part 3: Should the base be incomplete, island living will still be the safest option in a Class 4 outbreak. My skills can directly translate into most professions, and they will be useful on the island in some capacity, even if only as teacher or medic.

Part 4: For emergency exit, rappel ropes can be fixed to the back of the top tier, and we will make a break for the boat. This will be a dive boat secured at the shore, allowing short-term living at sea, and escape to other islands. Should the boat be unavailable (stolen, sunk, etc) then we will relocate to a pre-determined BOL (to be decided once the outbreak has started.)

Just like to say Pedro this survival plan is great but one thing i dont think you covered is environmental factors such as Extreme weather conditions like hurricanes etc. forgive me if im wrong, because i read through your survival plan late at night so i may just have missed it, but i think it would be worth looking into plans for dealing with surviving such events and repair afterwards Hope this helps :)

So I decided to show this website to my father. The particular part of the site I showed was Pedro's Survival Plan. My father took the time to skim through and got hooked. He then reread the whole thing. Now he's insisting that PedroAsani is the god of large-scale, long term survivalism and is going to model his plan after this one except for having his base in our backyard. He ran off to the army/navy surplus store and is using a printed off version of the plan to make his purchases but isn't taking the quality and cost of the gear into consideration. For a while know we have seen the oncoming doom and have been saving up to prepare but now has become so obsessed with THIS plan in particular that he is not even considering OUR area and how to survive here. What's better is that he is printing off more copies and passing them out to his impressionable buddies who have survivalist mindsets.

So now it seems Pedro is the owner of his very own cult. Thank you for brain washing my father. =_=* Now I have headache.

PedroAsani I think I'm done here 18 Jul 13 2010, 11:48 AM EDT by PedroAsani

The plan looks as complete as I can make it at this point. What I really need is as much constructive criticism as possible. The only proviso is don't bitch about cost. I am aware that this is a long range, expensive plan. I'm prepared for that.

What I'm looking for are things I have missed off. Anything you think I will need to survive, or make life easier. Get to poking holes in it people, it's the best way to learn.
