In the name of trench knives. I dont like em they do not fit comfortably and if they get stuck they take to long to ditch. go with something easier like the k-bar curving tactical knife. less hand protection but a thick durable blade plenty of weight to help punch threw the skull and its comfortable to use I carry one while in uniform on my belt with my gerber etc. haven't found much that dulls the blade quickly
http://www.knife-depot.com/knife-297205.html I would go with either the kukri or the machete no problems there. But i would have the thicker blade, because if it does come to that i don't want that breaking on me ya know? As far as pistols. At the PX near where I work I can get Several Good pistols for under $400 USD no silencers that I've seen but $500 will buy at least 1 decent pistol plus small accessories another thing you would need for ALL of these weapons is cleaning kits that the person should carry one on them and keep at least one in there room / BOB Thank you That is all :D

I disagree with your suggestion of not going to search for more supplies, items like duct tape, and scrap metal are necessary for survival and easily found.

Instead of a regular machete, i suggest the Kukri, a Ghurka traditional knife. It has a thicker, heaver weight focused on the bend halfway up the blade. This gives you a MUCH greater poundsforce on the edge of the blade. If you have a large, heavy kukri, you could literally split a Zed Head from skulltop to spineback.
The handguns should be Glock G19C, the Glock 19C is a more compact version that holds a 9x19mm round, and has a compensator. Perfect, low recoil, decent stopping power, high magazine capacity. Or a nice semi Ruger. The rifle should be a .22 Marlin, scoped and silenced, tube fed (12 or so rounds), bolt or lever action. Low recoil, decent range, the lever action gives you a higher rate of fire, while still making each shot count. Browning also makes a nice semi, also tube fed, but you load it from the stock, 11 rounds. You should also add to your medkit/ once a week use, Valium, or dizaphram, a drug that should be taken in 2, 5, or 10 mg doses. Basically, it can be used as an anti depressant, but its use is for calming you down, relaxing your muscles, or relaxing you for a high stress situation. It stops muscles shaking, so you can get a better killzone, and more accurate shots, meaning less bullet wasting. make it two emergency rations, and two sets of earplugs. Your spikes should be made of tempered aluminium, since you can easily melt that down, and if you make a 3/4 inch or thicker bars, you can sharpen them easily, and they wont break. You can always remelt and recast if they break, and you can pick up trash, like old soda or beer cans to melt down.

with a bolt action rifle every shot will count, but will also take about 7-10 seconds or more for effective shots. i suggest a semi-auto such as an ar-15. aim, fire, done. also if you get the civilian version you wont waste ammo or precious time that you will need on the battlefield. this is the exact reason the u.s. army went from full auto m-16s to triple shot m-16s. but you might want a rifle with more versitile ammunition choice.
silencers are also unnecessary (IMO) and not easily obtained (in the u.s. it requires a class 3 firearms liscense which is almost impossible to obtain). 2 handguns scream dual wield and i can almost guarantee that anyone you give two handguns to will start dual weilding UNLESS one is like a .45 and one is like a snubnose .357 or .38. my suggestion is if you do the 2 hand gun thing this is the rout you take and make one a shoulder holstered weapon and one an ankle holstered weapon. those are my only problems with the supplies, and are ENTIRELY my personal opinion. your plan, your base, your choice. simply suggestions with utmost respect. :)

seems like cloth could stain and become unreadable if dropped in the mud or something, maybe a plastic map would work better? just a thought.
