PedroAsani's Survival Plan - Part 4: Living - TimelineThis is a featured page

This global timeline is general and deliberately vague. The island timeline is more specific. Many of the times stated are linked to the global timeline, and so some events will happen a lot later than they could, simply because the island might be safe sooner or longer than the rest of the world, but for certainty's sake, the BOL will remain at a more heightened state of security.

As stated on various threads, I am using the hypothesis of a natural outbreak in a third world rural area. Blood transmission, 24 hour incubation, 0.0001% immunity. Morningstar archetype. That means runners that are "killed" by trauma on the torso or limbs "reanimate" as walkers an hour later. Brain trauma kill both types outright.

Time Global Events BOL Events
Day 0 First zombie in existence None, no action able to be taken
Day 10 Around three hundred zombies in existence. Disappearances of rural villages in remote third world locations reported. Farm produce ceases being sold to market. If no further reports after thirty days, produce returns to market.
Day 30 Around sixteen thousand zombies in existence. Riots, looting and civil unrest reported, along with descriptions of "drug-crazed" attackers and "mutilple gunshots required to take some of them down."

Sicknesses and disappearances, along with attacks (particularly at hospitals) start appearing in first world countries.
Messages go out to head to the BOL. Orders are placed with food warehouses for large amounts (hopefully on credit)

The Boat (contingency escape plan) is fully fueled and anchored offshore, near the BOL.

Gates are closed, but not locked. People are able to enter the BOL. Medical screening is done as a precaution.
Day 45 Around two hundred thousand zombies in existence.

More reports of disappearances and attacks from first world countries. Air travel from third world nations affected is restricted, quarantines imposed.

Unrest in first world countries increases. Panic buying occurs. Fuel stations begin to run out.
All supplies now moved into the BOL. The last few inhabitants arrive.
Day 60 Around twelve million zombies now in existence. Zombie existence confirmed, albeit by another name.

Military intervention in third world fails. Countries fall back to individual defence.
BOL locked down.
Day 90 Around four hundred million zombies now in existence. Mass panic evident worldwide. Possible zombie on island.
Day 180 Around one and a half billion zombies now in existence. Governments in rout. First confirmed kill from the BOL.
Day 365 Around four billion zombies now in existence. Governments almost non-existent. Refugees rumoured to be heading to the Caribbean islands. First crop has been harvested, more accurate capacity for the BOL can be calculated. Trench digging has been completed.
Second year Consolidation now in effect. Governments are beginning the task of mounting a counter-offensive. BOL now running more smoothly. First Hospital scavenge considered.
Fifth year Government organised sweeps are underway, with large areas being declared "zombie-free zones". Pre-Z food stockpile now depleted. No more branded foodstuffs.
Tenth Year Entire countries now declared "zombie-free". Certain areas are closed off due to their problematic nature - swamps, frozen mountainside, etc Beaches are still treated with caution because of the occasional zombie walking out of the ocean. Manufactured clothing now wearing thin.

Your page is very detailed, I am impressed with the amount of thought you have put into your research and how prepared you are. Some of you ideas I am considering implementing into my own plan.
However, I am curious as to how leadership in your small community will work after Z Day. I understand you have put considerable personal time, effort and funds into the plans. Certainly with your name on the paperwork, in a pre-zed world you would be entitled to be the "Boss".
But after Z Day, when you have 45-60 people living in the complex with you, how will leadership and your mini "government" form? Will you be the sole leader, and everyone obeys your word or will you form a council of sorts who votes on what is best for community? I can see problems with people feeling they have no say and cannot change or adapt rules.
I have no strong feelings either way as this is not my plan and I am not involved. But, what would you do if faced with 30 or so people who decide they no longer think you are fit to be in charge? In a council situation it can be put to a vote of leaders in the community.
I mean no insult to anything in your plan but the human factor must be considered for small communities post Z Day
Do you find this valuable?
